The silence of the empty halls are broken by echoing footsteps, followed by the sound of echoing laughter. Two boys, one short brunette, one tall ginger walk through the quiet atmosphere in their own world, laughing hysterically at eachother.
"They really thought they had a fucking chance when they've literally got Rowan on their team!" One managed to let out a sentence in the middle of uncontrollable laughter.
"Right? Like the time he stepped out of the third without realizing and he continued the game so confidentally without noticing that all his moves then on were foul! Fucking loser!"
They both laughed simutaniously before falling silent upon the approach of a hall monitoring teacher, death-eyeing them. She had a short red coloured bob and wore a navy blazer with her initials and a light blue blouse underneath, along with cone-heeled shoes. "Lachlan. Sebastian. What do you think you two are doing out of class?" She spoke in her usual annoying tone of voice. Lachlan, the short brunette's gaze focused away from the woman infront of them before fianlly speaking with a lie,
"We just finished a netball game, heading to the change rooms."
The teacher looked at them with a raised eyebrow, "Really? I haven't heard of a game."
Sebastian, the ginger responded, "It was just practice game to prepare for the finales."
The lady infront of them nodded her head in response, quite impressed about the boys finales. "Well then I'll let it slide with a warning considering you two appear to be on the.. Cobras team, yes?"
"Yep, that's right. Red Cobras." Sebastian spoke.
"Lucky for you, I support the Red Cobras. You two better head back to class soon though otherwise I will have no choice but to give you both detention slips."
"Yeah, no worries, Miss! We'll head there soon."
They both walked off in opposite directions and the boys headed to the change rooms.

"Heck, why is she always walking through the halls like that? It's fucking creepy hearing her heels tap, man." Sebastian half-joked, sneering in the process.
"Yeah, damn right." Lachlan responded.
Sebastian peeled off his shirt, soaked in sweat and partially in dirt. Lachlan was busy fixing his hair at a mirror infront of a rusting tap. "You should seriously shower first, pretty boy." Sebastian said with sass, stepping into the open shower, where Lachlan could see him. (There was no doors to any of the showers, just stalls, seperated by a singular wall.) "God, in a second, Seb." He said, tearing off his shirt. Sebastian watched him and let a sentence slip out from his tongue jokingly, "You should come into my stall." Lachlan rolls his eyes with a smirk, "Fuck no, dude.", he hopped into his own stall and the change rooms was then filled with the sounds of hot running water and moist steam.
*** The bell rings once they're done showering and getting changed. It's lunch time. ***
The halls are now filled with students walking back and fourth, some inside, most outside in the refreshing sunlight. Lachlan and Sebastian were in the oval field, aggressively playing against other peers in their grade. "Stay in your third, PUNK!" One of the athletes called to another teammate. Sebastian let out a loud chuckle, sneering at what he considered the 'sore losers'. Lachlan was sitting on the side of the field as a reserve, waiting to be tapped in. Sebastian watched him before running torwards him, yelling, "Hey, Lachie! Switch in!" Lachlan was quick to stand up, slapping Sebastian's hand for a high five. Sebastian whacked Lachlan's ass, mockingly saying, "Good lucky, pretty boy!" before he ran onto the field and Lachlan called out before putting on his netball bib, with the abbreviantions, 'WA', for 'Wing Attack', "You're so funny, Sebastian!", he said sarcastically with a smile.
Sebastian gulped down his bottle of crisp cold water, watching his athlete netball partner committing to his role. He plopped himself down on a silver bench. Behind him, a group of female students giggle, swooning over Sebastian.

"Fuck, he looks so hot all sweaty like that! Is he not?" One girl turned to her friend for validation.
"Sebastian and Lachlan are literally the main characters of the school, they could get any girl they want!" Her friend responded excitedly.
"I'm hoping that one of them notice that I'm always at their game and their practices.. Maybe that's how we'll become closer!"
"Aria, literally almost every girl attends their games.."
"Well, I'm *me*, how could they not notice me? I'm basically the most popular girl, Sophie."
"You're right, actually! I won't be surprised if one of them asks you out for this year's formal event."
"They better. There's literally no other girl that's as good as us."
"For real."

A high-pitched squealing whistle is blown by a student referee, signifying that the practice is over. Lachlan rips of his netball bib, jogging to Sebastian who was still sitting in the silver seats with his arms crossed, man spreading. "Ayy, we could've won that one if we had time." Sebastian said. "Definitely. I mean, we did not spend 2 and a half years training for netball to lose a practice game." They both chuckled in response. Sebastian threw Lachlan his half drank water bottle; he gulped it down, a thin stream of water dripping from his mouth. Not long later, the bell rang, dismissing all the students to their last period, which, for most students, was maths. The two boys zipped their sport bags, walking to their classes, tired and preparing for 80 minutes of boredom.

Lachlan rested his chin on the palm of his head, sighing in boredom, not listening to whatever bullshit the teacher was writing on the bored. His eyelids felt heavier and heavier the more he waited for something interesting to happen. Out of the blue, Sebastian threw a small, crinkled and crushed piece of paper accross the room to Lachlan's desk. Confused, Lachlan unfolded the piece of paper, setting his eyes upon a few messily written words that said, 'WANNA COME TO MY HOUSE AFTER SCHOOL?'. He looked up to Sebastian, who was patiently waiting for a response. Lachlan made an 'ok' gesture with his hands, while winking at him jokingly. Sebastian smirked at his approval then continued to stare into his empty void with the sounds of the teacher's non-stop blabbering, muffled in the background.

Soon enough, the bell rings and all the students are dismissed home.
Lachlan and Sebastian walk to Seb's home together; a quite intimate night ahead of them.
