TEDIOUS - ONE PIECE X READER PART TWO

You and Luffy hugged each other, ducking back into the barrel as it rolled around and bounced due to the attack. After a moment, it had stopped as you and the boy wheezed. "Um... Are you guys alright? Did you get hurt?" Oh! It was the short pink haired kid!

Luffy pulled your face into his chest as he laughed like a lunatic. "HAHAHA! We're fine, just surprised is all! I'm Luffy, what is this place?"

You pushed yourself away from Luffy, quickly climbing out of the barrel. "And uhm, I'm (y/n).... I guess...." you had muttered, unsure.

"....You guess-??" the short spectacled boy inquired, confused. "Ah! Anyways... This is the breeding ground of the pirate iron mace Alvida. I'm the caretaker of the ship, my name is Coby."

"I see..." Luffy commented, attempting to flee from the barrel as well. "Actually, that's not too important."

"Oh..." Coby sweatdropped.

"Oh!"

"Oh?"

"Oh!"

"...Oh?!"

What were the two doing-?! You blinked as Luffy continued shouting oh's whilst Coby returned them questioningly. You sighed, stepping between the two. "I believe Luffy is meaning to ask if you have a ship we could use. Due to someone's stupidity, ours got dragged down a whirlpool." you accusingly glared at the aforementioned, Luffy who sweatdropped.

Coby jolted. "Whirl....Whirlpool?! You two got caught in a whirlpool?!"

Luffy stepped forward, his arms crossed as he narrowed his eyes in thought. "Yeah... It was pretty scary."

"A normal person would've died already... You....You want a boat? Well I have one but..." Coby trailed off.

~Time skip~

"What's this? A coffin?" Luffy inquired, gently nudging the object with his foot.

You blankly stared at it. "Looks more like a trashcan to me."

Coby practically had tears rolling down his face, poor boy. "This is...This is the boat I spent two years making..." the pinkette pouted.

Luffy looked over to the younger, an unreadable expression on his face. "Two years....and you don't want it anymore?"

"Yeah... I don't want it anymore. I was gonna run away in this.... But it looks like I don't have the guts to do it. Guess I'm just gonna be a caretaker my whole life." the boy depressingly responded, continuing. "Although I do have something else I would've liked to do."

"The-" you interrupted the straw hat male.

"Then you should just leave." you'd monotonously advised.

Coby stared at you in horror. "NO...NO I CAN'T! IT'LL NEVER WORK!! WHENEVER I THINK OF ALVIDA-SAMA FINDING OUT, MY LEGS TURN ALL MUSHY OUTTA FEAR-!!" he'd screeched.

You deadpanned.

"That day... I was only fishing. But I accidentally walked onto her ship!! In order for them to spare my life, I became a cabin boyyy-!!" the boy broke down crying as he clung to you, his tears getting on your shirt as you cringed.

Luffy then decided to add fuel to the fire. "You're pretty stupid and useless." he'd bluntly commented. The pinkette cried even louder. "You seem wimpy too. I don't like you." Luffy pointed out. The male clinging to you was sobbing by now.

Luffy huffed, annoyed at the younger's cries. "Y'know- hey, get off (y/n)!- Anyways. I'm sailing because I wanna be king of the pirates." Luffy cheerfully revealed. You paused.

"Luffy. You didn't tell me that." you scolded, pouting. The boys flinched.

Coby reluctantly released his grasp on you, turning to face Luffy, absolutely horrified. "You... You're....SEARCHING FOR THE ONE PIECE-?!" You yawned as the two began bantering.

You were cut from your thoughts when Coby collapsed to the ground, holding his head. "Ow! Why'd you hit me?!"

"Because you're annoying me and (y/n)." Luffy had replied, dragging you into the small fight.

Coby sighed, "Well... I guess I'm used to it...."

Luffy suddenly pulled you into a side hug, ignoring your attempts at distancing yourself. "We're not afraid to die."

"I am, I assure you! Now release me you rubber bitch!" you bellowed, struggling.

He ignored you. "It's my dream. That's why I don't mind dying for it."

"It's not my dream so leave me out of it! I wanna reunite with Shiruku!"

He continued brushing your words and struggling off, "Besides, I think we can do it. Though it'll get tough sometimes."

"Oi! You lanky beanpole ass bitch bo-" your insults were paused when Coby said something you hadn't expected.

"Will....Will I also be able....To accomplish my dream if I'm....willing to die?" his voice cracked. You cringed as Luffy froze, the both of you clearly judging him. "Will I be able to become a marine?!"

You snorted.

Luffy blinked. "A marine?"

"Luffy-san! (y/n)-san! I know it'll mean we'll be enemies, but catching bad guys has always been my dream!" Coby exclaimed. You frowned, feeling out of place. Was life so boring that you'd never thought about your future, or had a dream? No. Your dream was to stay with Shiruku, but you ruined that. You joined Luffy because you were bored. Because life was tedious and draining.

You ignored as Coby yelled at Luffy, interrogating the poor teen for his opinion. There was a presence nearby, close enough to hear Coby's words. You grit your teeth, an iron mace slamming onto the ground between the three of you. "WHO DID YOU SAY YOU'RE GOING TO ARREST, COBY?!" the woman had screeched.

"Who the hell is she? She's quite boring." you monotonously claimed. You feared certain things, but not people, hence you weren't scared of the giant lady carrying an iron mace. Makes sense right? Right.

Everybodies jaws dropped at your comment, only you and Luffy unaffected. "Yeah, and she's rude too." Luffy added.

Alvida irked, swinging her weapon at Coby in a blind anger. "You three must die!!" Luffy slid in front of you and Coby, taking the hit. Coby wailed in shock and fear that his new friend had been murdered before him, yet you remained calm and silent.

"It's useless against me. Because I'm made of rubber." Luffy had declared, the mace still atop his head.

"Luffy, your hat's not made of rubber." you informed, getting exactly what you expected. Luffy paused before breaking into a rampage and punching Alvida, sending her flying.

"DON'T TOUCH MY TREASURE-!!" he bellowed, angrily. You sighed, already having expected this. Luffy inhaled before regaining his composure, "You guys!" He pointed to Alvida's servant's. "Prepare a boat for Coby! He wants to join the marines so stay outta his way!"

"Y-yes sir!" they all screeched, scampering off in different directions.

Luffy began laughing once again as Coby began bawling, again.

~time skip~

The two gazed at you in shock. "Wait! (y/n)-san, you ate a devil fruit too-?!"

"(y/n)! Why didn't you tell me-?!" Luffy complained. You stared at Luffy as if he was an idiot.

"I've quite literally used my devil fruit ability in front of you!" you argued, Luffy crossed his arms, huffing and turning away.

"And you're on Luffy-san's pirate crew, (y/n)-san?" Coby questioned, smiling excitedly. You blankly stared at him before slowly nodding, a disgusted look etched onto your face.

"Hey whY DO YOU LOOK SO DISGUSTED-?!" Luffy whined. "Anyways, don't worry (y/n)! We'll have another crewmate soon! He's at the place we're heading to now!"

Coby froze. "You don't mean..."

Luffy nodded. "Roronoa Zoro."

Lesson of the day, Luffy gets mad if you mess with his hat.
