Everlasting Flame

Chapter 1 - The fire

Hollynn sat there although everyone else fled. She sat there. Staring at the glistening flames that surrounded her from every direction.

She could hear the faint yelling of her grandmother, begging the firefighters to save her dear grandchild. It may sound weird, but hollynn liked fire. She found it comforting.

She found herself smiling as she looked around at her burning room, she was.. for some odd reason... happy. She heard a loud bang. A firefighter had kicked down her door and extinguished some of the flames.

"No !" She yelled.

"Come here kid, we're running out of time !" The firefighter was beginning to sound annoyed.

But she still insisted on staying and backed away from the man, shaking her head while clutching her teady bear with all her might.

"Leave me alone," She mumbled "I want to stay."

"But you'll die ! Now stop being stubborn and cmon," He grabbed her arm and forcefully dragged her outside of the house as she kicked and screamed for him to let her go.

"Oh my dear baby !" Hollynn's grandmother ran up to her, hugging her tightly, "I thought you were a goner !! I'm so glad you're safe."

"But grandmother... I want to stay. The fire was warm and welcoming to me..." Hollynn said.

"What nonsense are you on about ? Fire is no toy to play with Holly ! You could've gotten hurt !" Her grandmother, Mary, scolded her.

Hollynn just held on to her teddy bear and kept looking at the fire.

Hollynn sat up on her bed and ran her fingers through her long silky hair.

"Why do I keep dreaming about the fire... it happened 15 years ago !" She complained.

Hollynn was now 21. She got up and went to the bathroom to take a quick shower.

After a nice hot shower, Holly brushed her hair, changed into some comfortable clothes and head out to college.

Hellooo ! This is the end of chapter one, if wanna see, this is hollynn's outfit !!
