Hello all! You may or may not know me, but I am a small author here. I've written a few stories that I plan to update in the near future, but this is my new story! I am not sure where this will be going in the future, but for now I'm just going to wing it and hope for the best. This story will be... Graphic at some points and will have touchy subjects for some people! IF ANY OF THESE SUBJECTS ARE HARD TO READ ABOUT I WILL PUT A "TW" AND THEN AN "END TW" TO WARN YOU WHEN IT IS SAFE TO READ.

Some of these topics will include:
Major swearing (not only do the characters curse a lot, but the author's is worse than a truckers. Be prepared)
Violence
Smoking
Drinking (possibly)
Drug usage
Talk about domestic violence and abuse (may have some written in detail in there as well)
Depression
abuse of all kinds and trauma from past experiences

There may be more! I will add to the list if anything comes up for anyone new reading the story.

However, we can now get into our protagonist! (Y/N) (L/N). I'm sorry for everyone that is not identifying as female, but for now I will be using she/her pronouns. I know that most of the stories that I make are made for female readers, but this one I think would need it to be a she/her, based off of how the characters would react to (Y/N) using they/them or anything else for that matter.

Anyways! I will give brief details on (Y/N)'s life, before and in the present time. Our girl will have selective mutism, due to the abuse she suffered in the past. Not to dive too deep but her mother was struggling with addiction since she was born, and all she really had was her father and her older sister. (If the name I use matches yours, go ahead and change her name.) Her sister is 18 in the present, and she lives with her father full time. Her mother gave (Y/N) up later in her life around the age of 13 because her addiction was getting so bad, she just couldn't handle the stress of having a child any longer. Her mother would bring in awful people who were mostly worse than her, and they had done some horrible things to her. (I won't go into detail until later in the story.) Because of these horrible things she doesn't speak almost at all, and only talks around her father and sister, Delilah. (Y/N) is going to have selective mutism, no questions asked.

For anyone who doesn't know, the description of selective mutism is: Selective mutism is a severe anxiety disorder where a person is unable to speak in certain social situations, such as with classmates at school or to relatives they do not see very often.

This means that she will not talk, almost at all in school, or out anywhere. She does not have any kind of hearing issues. It is all anxiety based. (I myself as the author struggle with this too, and I'm sure others struggle with this same problem.) When she does talk, (Y/N) will stutter a lot due to her not speaking, and just being anxious and scared to speak in general, apart from around her family. Her family (her sister and father) are the only people she fully trusts, as they earned it with hard work and lots of therapy. This was caused because of her mother and what happened in her past. She will open up eventually to others, yes. She had learned American sign language (ASL) from an early age, due to having a special interest in speaking another language. Now that is one of the only methods she uses to talk to most people. She either uses ASL, or writing what she wants to say down on a piece of paper.

Our girl loves music and drawing, and she can play the guitar. It soothes her a lot of the time to hum along to a song she knows, or to just strum something on the guitar and make it up as she goes. She loves to be out in nature, and will sometimes just sit outside enjoying the fresh air. (Y/N) absolutely loves animals as well, and has a PSD to help her with meltdowns, anxiety attacks, or anything else that might come up in her daily life.

Also for anyone who didn't know: A PSD is a psychiatric service dog. She struggles with PTSD, and severe anxiety causing her to have panic attacks in crowded spaces, in very loud environments, etcetera. The dog she has as her PSD is a golden retriever named Jupiter.

A few of the main LI/other characters that play big roles are: Todd (LI since he's straight >:( I'm mad about that but he's homophobic and racist), Larry (LI), Ash (LI because I think we all love Ash, even if she's mean), Sal (Known as Sullivan, LI), Travis (Big role, I have plans), and Maple (Big role as (Y/N)'s first/best friend).

I'll check what you want added and I'll most likely be able to put it in, as long as it doesn't interfere with future plans. Yes, I know, I said I was just going to wing it. But come on, its me. The author. I always have something up my sleeve. ;)
