Elden Ring ( A Gamers Plight)

This is really happening

Upon opening my eyes, i immediately jerked my torso upwards gasping for air while clutching my throat.

" Ugh! ahh....... what the fuck?"

While feeling around on my throat, i noticed the hole or rather lack of was nowhere to be felt

"........ How can this be,  I FUCKNG FELT THE KNIFE GO THROUGH MY NECK............... I should be dead!"

Due to agonizing about my physical state i failed to realize the current location i now find myself in.

After a few moments of inhaling and exhaling to calm myself down, i finally raised my head to look at my immediate surroundings.

Upon looking up i am greeted with the sight of  a dimly lit room, with stone walls on each side, plants springing up from the ground, pieces of wood sprawled across the floor,  a seemingly torn off statue leaning against the wall and a thick metal door at the front.

The more my eyes take in of this place, the more i grow confused, as if something is gnawing at the back of my head telling me i've been here before.

" Maybe i am dead and this is some sort of purgatory, that would explain why this place feels so....... Familiar. Although i can't really explain why though, hopefully i'll be able to figure it out later."

After vocalizing my thoughts i move closer to the metal door hoping to get out of here as quick as possible.

Upon making my way to the door, i also notice that the 'statue' i previously thought, was actually the unconscious body of  young woman dressed in seemingly medieval era clothes, of course this thought was dispelled after checking on the woman and realizing her whole body was cold and stiff, along with a sizeable spot of dried blood around her back where she was slumped over.

" Ugh! Is this some kind of sick fucking joke to rattle me some more after already dying an unpleasant death?! Huh?!  Cause if so, congratulations! you've successfully done your job! *Sigh* that would partially explain why this woman also feels familiar to me, yet at the same time, i have no idea who she is."

After venting my full frustrations to the unresponsive ceiling, hoping to get control of my already unwinding mind, i notice a glimmering light stationed at her feet that had previously gone unnoticed due to my concern for the woman at first,  along with my anger directed to whatever higher power was having their fun at my expense.

Looking down at the glimmering almost blinding light, i notice it was a collection of (what i could best describe) scribbles on a set of rocks arranged in a certain order as if to display some sort of message. Bending a knee to crouch down to try and make out any semblance of a message it was trying to convey,  the gnawing feeling that i felt twice before suddenly made it's third appearance, only this time something else came with it.

" AHHHH! MY FUCKING HEAD! WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING?!"

Gripping my head that was now in extreme pain to try and do anything to make it go away, the meaning of the scribbles flooded the inner sanctum of my mind causing me to drop to my knees.

' Though the path be broken and uncertain, claim your place as Elden Lord!'

Note: This is my first time writing a fanfiction, this is a just a little snippet of what i have envisioned in my mind, trying as best as i could to write it into a digestible story, a test to see if my writing is palpable.

Another Note: I have a confession to make. while i have watched videos upon videos of gameplay and lore about elden ring, i myself have never actually played the game. That however is going to change in the upcoming days as i am looking to purchase an xbox one and the game at my nearest gamestop so that i may explore the world myself, and frankly, i REALLY REALLY want to play the game, until then, i ask anyone who has read this little snippet i made in my sparetime to please wait until i have an even better understanding of the this beautiful game.

Ah, another i would like to add, i'm  currently in contact with an artist i fond through IG so that i can have an original piece for my cover art. The new cover art will be the visage of the protagonist 'Deejay'.
