*Tarnishes Pov*
I’ve been through this journey…or as I like to call it, hell. So many times that I stopped counting decades ago. It’s torture. Never ending torture. All I want to do is have a peaceful life. Maybe even have a family if I get lucky…but right now…I don’t think that's possible. I always seem to start in this church. I also always see this dead maiden on the ground near the door. I assume it was my maiden and that Varre probably killed her.
No matter. I usually kill him everytime I see him.”Maidenless runt” He always calls me. Heh. In the grand scheme of things he seems to be right. Since none of them live anyway. Being in this constant state of mental anguish has made my senses dull. I don’t even feel the rush of energy when I'm fighting. Even the tree sentinel that always tries to attack me provides me with no enjoyment. The fight is over as soon as it begins with me ripping him to shreds spreading gore and blood everywhere. Pure anger had come over me and I just took it out on the closest living thing nearby. This was a feeling I had not felt in a very…very long time.
I finally reach the grace where Melina appears and I can’t help but start crying.
“Greetin-”
I clung on to her cloak sobbing as I already knew what happened to her. She looks at me confused and just allows me to cry.
“Fellow tarnish. Why so many tears?”
“*sniff* I-im sorry…”
I get up and just let her finish speaking before she fades away again.
The soldiers at the town saw me and started rushing at me. Before you knew it I had killed all of them in the most brutal way possible. Some even tried running away but before they could I ripped their spins out through their armor. All of this only took 15 seconds. I…never felt this anger before. I just wanted to kill everything on site…but not before meeting someone…for the last time….
*Sellen’s pov*
It was cramped in this small stone room. But it was the only thing hiding me from those witch hunters. It also helps that the pumpkin head was easy enough to bring down here so it provides protection for the most part. But as I was reading I suddenly heard a loud crash above me. The flowers maybe? Is someone fighting them? This did worry me a little so I got prepared. I grabbed my staff and stood there looking above me. Then I started hearing loud noises outside of my door where the pumpkin head was. Then I started hearing screaming, then flesh noises…then nothing.
I froze. I had known the pumpkin head wasn’t the best defense but what could possibly rip the thing apart. Definitely no witch hunter…maybe some other monster? The door starts lifting up and I panic a little before it reveals…a tarnish wearing the same glintstone crown as me?
*Tarnishes pov*
It's her…everytime I see her I just lose the ability to speak…Sellen…she was always helpful to me…calling me her apprentice…saying she was proud of me…
“Sellen…”
“...how do you know my name? And where did you get that glintstone crown?”
I say nothing but walk up to her covered in blood from the pumpkin head and I just…hug her…falling to my knees while still hugging her.
“I'm sorry I couldn’t save you…”
Crying uncontrollably at this point I hold onto her even tightly. I want nothing but to whisk her away from this place to a far away land where we can live a normal life…
“...what is the matter with you tarnish???Why are you crying???”
She was trying to push me off but I didn’t let her. I did eventually get up.
