The phone rings as I'm barely awake, trying my hardest to open my eyes which were glued shut from the tiredness.

"Who is calling me this early, my God." I let out the loudest grunt as I rolled over in bed to reach my phone which was charging on the stand next to my bed. "Adam!" I squealed happily before I answered the phone quickly while I sat up on my bed. "Hey Mil! How are you? Vegas is pretty lonely without you." Adam chuckled over the phone as he took a sigh. "Well at least it's better than this dump of a place here in Cali." I chuckled as well as I got up from bed. "I'm fine though, how's you and your grandma doing?" I asked in a worried tone as I got ready for a shower. "We're both great, she's doing better now. Though I'll probably have to stay for maybe about a few days."

I let out a loud sigh. This is the second time he's told me he was going to stay there for a little while more, he always does this when he's out visiting his grandmother. I hope she's doing well, Adam must really care for her.

"Oh! Well you sound pretty tired yourself. I hope she gets better soon! You get some rest as well." At this point I had the most worried expression on my face. As the call went on, I comforted him as much as I could. "Yeah, well I gotta' go, I'll call you later." He hung up pretty quickly. Now I know this seems suspicious as hell, but I promise you he's a great guy! We've been together for four years now and I've been so happy ever since. He's done a lot for me, and because of that ..

I'm going to give him a surprise visit!

I planned a whole road trip to Vegas, and it'll be the best weekend ever.

I take my sweet time to get ready for work. I work as a photographer at a mall near my apartment which is all I could get from going to college, what a scam. I was most likely the one who took your family picture during Christmas, not that you remember but I was THAT photographer, trust me. Maybe that trip to Vegas could be a big advantage for me. I'll snap some shots with my camera and turn them in for a competition at this college campus near my place, maybe it could help me get some good money.

As I was walking, sweating as I do every morning, I wiped my face and drank some water as I finally saw my best friend who is also my co-worker, Crystal, standing by the entrance of the mall waiting for me. Crystal was an outgoing girl, would try to convince me to go to parties with her and to go out to drink knowing we are complete opposites. Though the thing is, I've invited her to my trip to Vegas. She's my best friend, the most I could do for her is taking her to the most perfect city for her personality while I'm with Adam.

"Heyyy Mil! Ready for work?" Crystal exclaimed in excitement as she casually wrapped her arm around my neck as we walked to our station. "I've never seen you this excited before, especially at work." I slowly took her arm off of me and started adjusting the lens in my camera. "Yeah I wonder why .. oh yeah, I'm going to Vegasss!" We continued walking as I tilted my head down in embarrassment. Crystal rushed in front of me as her fluffy black hair hit me in the face. We continued walking as she was walking backwards while smirking at me. "That means .. you could finally party with me!" She exclaimed while turning back to facing forward though with her head still turned to me. "Nope, nuh uh, I'm just going to hang out with Adam and leave, that's it." I crossed my arms. "Ugh, you're no fun!" Crystal exclaimed sarcastically. And don't get too worried, Crystal respects my boundaries, why do you think she's still my best friend after all these years? She may be the complete opposite, but she's still a great friend.

I stopped at my station which is in the middle of the mall. My boss greets us as me and Crystal prepares for customers. Like every other season, a lot of families came to take pictures, it is the beginning of summer.
