Overwhelmed

The car ride

Today I'm leaving my home town and moving to a town called Denver.. The reason is because my parents got a divorce and I'm moving somewhere else with my mom. They didn't fight or get angry.. They just don't love each other anymore and hoped I understood. I do, its just sad. "Hey! Snap back to reality and give me a hug!" My dad snaps his fingers. I give him a hug, tears falling.. I mean I'm literally leaving my dad. "I'll miss you, miss monkey." I always loved that name but pretended I hated it. "I'll miss you too." I give him one last hug. My mom comes to the front door with the rest of our stuff and puts it in the car. I silently wait for her to look at me. Once she's done she goes to my dad and hug him. "Thank you for letting her keep the cat." She laughs talking about me because I begged to take his cat with me. They both laugh and I giggle.. I'm gonna miss this. "Oh! And you'll pay for his food?" My mom asks my dad, He shakes his head up and down. "Bye (dads name), come on y/n." I wave my father goodbye and get in the front seat. This is gonna be a LONGGG ride. My mom turns on her music, I hate her music taste so I connect to her phones Wi-Fi and put my headphones in and blast (favorite song) till I fall asleep.

I wake up, my body hurts so bad. We are at a gas station and my mom's pumping gas so I get out to stretch. I walk around the car to her, "can I get some snacks?" she pulls her wallet out of her pocket and gives it to me. "Not to much y/n! I have to have enough money for gas later." I give her a thumbs up and go around to throw my headphones in my seat. I shut the car door and walk up to the door. A old man runs to open the door for me. "I'll get the door for you, pretty lady." he smiles. Oh nah. I give him the most disgusted face and say, "no gtf away from me." he backs up and walks away offended. Fuck him. Anyways snacks! I walk through the whole building at least two times making sure I see every option. I grab (favorite snack and drink) and walk to the register. *ring ring* my items ring up. "That'll be 8.30$" I nod and get my mom's card so they could swipe it. "You want a bag?" I say yes and thank them. "Have a good day!" they we're kinda cute.. I get up to the car and get inside, "what took so long?" my mom asks. "Sorry I went around the store alot." she nods "ok, did you get anything for me?" she asks. "I did actually!" I hand her the candy she always gets, I knew she would try to steal mine so I got her her own. She gladly tales it and drives off. Back the headphones I go. I played something soft and fell asleep again.
