"Sounds like Liv." Jordan agreed.
"And why haven't I heard about you?" Simone inquired.
"I like to tell people about me on my own terms. Can't trust what my sister says. We aren't alike."
"I can tell." She nodded, wincing at pain in her shoulder. She didn't know how she managed to hurt herself but she was glad it wasn't too serious.
"You good?"
"Just some shoulder pain, I'll be fine."
"You mind? I've been told I'm good with my hands."
"You just like helping me dont you? I am not a damsel."
"I know you aren't but yes, I do like helping you. Is that so bad?" Jordan was curious.
"I know your sister, I don't know you."
"Mmm... sounds like an excuse. I am easy to get to know." Jordan rounded the table.
"How you know I don't have a man." She felt his hands rest on her shoulders.
"You would've mentioned one from the very beginning and Liv told me that JR was just a friend."
"Oh so you in my business?"
"I don't want to overstep." He gripped her shoulders gently.
"Uh huh. This isn't considered overstepping?"
"No sweetheart, I asked for your consent. If you want to get to know me, all you have to do is ask." Jordan applied more pressure the more he moved.
"You don't know boundaries. I don't know."
"I know boundaries and I am reading a lot on body language lately. You are open with Liv but you aren't that open with me. Which is understandable but it seems like you don't get too close to people. How am I doing so far?"
"On the massage or the profile?"
"Both."
"Ummm.... Keep going. You might be right, I don't get too close."
"So you always have your guard up? How do you expect to know people if you have your guard up?" He asked using his thumbs to press against skin.
He applied pressure where needed. He could tell by the silence that maybe she was into it. He smirked at her clearing her throat attempting to write.
"I am sure you are nice and there are plenty of girls on this campus and -"
"Simone, I am attracted to you. I want to see more of you. You don't have to make the first move. Let me take you on a date." He moved leaning against the table looking at her.
"What?"
"I want to take you on a date."
"So this isn't considered a date?" Simone rose a brow.
"I...Okay okay. 21 questions." Jordan went back to the massage.
"I'll go first. Would you rather date someone smart or pretty?"
"Ooooh. Smart. I need someone to hold a conversation with and definitely someone smarter than me. Pretty is already in the bag." Jordan responded.
"Knowledge goes a long way."
"Do you idealize your parent's relationship? He wondered.
"Nah. Sure, they love each other but they love their jobs more you know? They fought a lot on how to raise me and my dad usually lets my mom take the leads on things so nope. What do you get nervous about?"
