That Still Small Voice - Part 1

Start from the beginning

"Really? In the whole world?" Emma asked with a smile

"If Kathryn was horrible, it would be easier but, she's so... nice" the teacher tried to explain the reason behind her statement

"And what exactly would be easier?" wondered Angie knowingly

"Nothing" Mary Margaret replied quickly

"Nothing is a good idea" Emma told her "You're smart, you know not to get involved with a married guy. It's not worth the heartache. Trust me"

There was a knock on the door then

"I'll get it" Angie offered. She went to the door and when she opened it she found her nephew crying "Henry, what happened?" she asked worried, letting him in. Henry run straight to his mother, who hugged him instinctively. Once he'd calmed down a bit, he told them what had happened during his session with Archie. Emma was furious with the doctor and after instructing her sister to take Henry home, she went to have a talk with him.

Half way through the walk home, Henry stopped walking

"Hey, come on, we're almost there, Henry" Angie said turning back to look at him

"No, I'm not going home" he replied "We have to go to the mines, we have to find proof"

"Henry no, it's too dangerous" his aunt tried to reason with him

"You said you believed me! You said you believed the curse was real!" he screamed desperately

"And I do! Henry, I do believe you" Angie shouted back, holding him by the shoulders firmly. She sighed then, seeing the determined look on Henry's face "You're gonna go no matter what I say, aren't you?" and after a small pause she added "Okay then, let's go"

At Dr. Hopper's office, Emma was trying to understand how Archie could have done what he did, what could Regina possibly had said to him to force him to make that choice when her phone rang "Hello, Madam Mayor. Nice work" she answered the phone

"You with him?" Regina asked dryly

"Yes I'm with Dr. Hopper" the blonde replied "And guess what? You left your fingerprints all over him when you tried-"

Regina cut her off "Not him. Henry. Is he with you?"

"Angie was supposed to drop Henry at your office an hour ago" Emma said

"Well, he's not here" Regina informed her

"Well I don't know where he is" Emma told her

"Oh... I do" Archie said

At the entrance to the tunnel, Angie tried to talk Henry out of going in one last time "Are you sure you want to do this? We could find proof some other way, this is very dangerous Henry"

"My mom is hiding something in there and I'm going to find it" he said determined and went in, followed closely by his aunt

After walking for a while, Henry found something between some rocks on the wall "Aunt Angie, look!" he said, pulling out a piece of glass with some thick grey lines crossing it like branches

"What is that?" asked Angie

"It looks like what my mom found on the ground, but like a bigger piece" he told her

They were examining the piece when the ground began to shake

"Okay Henry, we have to go, now. Go, go, go" Angie said urgently, grabbing Henry's hand and running back the way they came

Outside the tunnel, Emma and Archie had arrived. After not being able to call Angie, Emma suspected that her sister was with her son. Archie had found one of Henry's candy bars at the entrance when the ground started shaking. They both started shouting Henry's and Angie's names in hopes that they heard them, but Archie ended up going in just as the rubbles fell and closed the entrance. Archie went further in and that's when he came face to face with Angie and Henry

"Henry? Angie?" he asked

"Archie?" Angie asked back surprised to see him

"Archie, you're here to help us?" Henry asked hopeful that his friend had changed his mind

"No, Henry, listen. We gotta get out of here, okay?" the doctor said

"So you're still against me" Henry replied serious

"Henry, there's no time for that" Archie said trying to make Henry see the danger of their situation

"Uh, where's the entrance?" wondered Angie, but neither Henry nor Archie heard her, both focused on their conversation

"You don't believe me?" Henry told the doctor "You'll see, you'll see!" he screamed running away into the mines

"Henry, wait!" "Henry come back!" both his aunt and Archie called out before running after him

"Henry? There you are" Angie said when they finally found him

"There's something shiny down there" Henry said, looking down a hole in the wall

"Henry, this is seriously dangerous. We gotta get out of here" Archie said once again

"It could be something!" Henry insisted

"Henry, look at me, look at me!" Archie grabbed Henry by the shoulders and forced him to turn and look at them "I'm frightened for us!"

"Because you think I'm crazy" answered Henry

"No, because we are trapped underground in an abandoned mine, Henry. And there is no way out" the doctor replied

Henry looked at his aunt, unsure if the doctor was telling the truth

"Henry, the last shake closed the entry" she informed him "We're gonna have to find another exit"

Outside the mines, Emma had called Sheriff Graham, the mayor and the firefighters after the tunnel entrance had collapsed. Now, half the town was gattered and some volunteers were trying to remove the debris covering the entrance to the tunnel

"Archie's smart. He would keep the boy safe until we get to them" Marco tried to reassure Emma

"Angie's phone still has no service" the blond said hanging up her phone

"You think she could be down there with Henry?" Graham asked her

"It's the only explanation, she must have followed him" she explained

The ground shook again, causing more rubble to fall

"Watch out!" "Get out of there" "Go, go, go!" the volunteers shouted, stepping away from the entrance

"Stop! You're making it worse!" Regina shouted at them

"I am trying to save them" Emma said to the mayor "You know why Henry went in there in the first place, don't you? Because you made him feel like he had something to prove"

"And why does he think he has something to prove? Who's encouraging him?" Regina countered

"Do not put this on me and my sister" Emma said in a low tone

"Oh, please. Lecture me until his oxygen runs out!" the mayor shouted. Pongo started barking then, not that the two women were paying him any attention

"Angie is also trapped in there! She went in after Henry!" Emma shouted back. She then took a deep breath to calm down "We have to stop this. Arguing won't accomplish anything" she told Regina, who agreed with her "No it won't"

"What do you want me to do?" Emma asked

"Help me" answered Regina softly "We need to find some way to punch through the ground. We need something big"

"Like what?" wondered Emma

"Explosives" Marco said from behind them
