"I learnt a lot from this place. Hazal, look I know we never really got to know each other well but I'd like to change that. If you want to of course" and she smiled "I'd like that" she smiled and we walked into the cafeteria where I saw Ekim and Melisa sitting together and narrowed my eyes. I hope Ekim takes me seriously and doesn't trust that liar. Hazal noticed my stare and whispered to me "If I were you I'd better warn your friend because Melisa changed a lot once you've been gone, and not for the better" she said concerned to which I nodded. Out of the corner of our eyes, we saw how some of Melisa's friends made a girl to trip over her feet and I just shook my head.

As the school ended Bekir called Ekim and me and told us that the director is waiting for us since he has a message for us. He told us that the school management arranged a cocktail party for us the next day to which I narrowed my eyes. It wasn't usual for them to hold cocktail parties for scholarship students, that never happened before. I planned to discuss this with Ekim later.

The next day, we met at Ekim's house and got ready there. My dad is working so I'm taking Rüya with me and Halil promised he'd watch over her if necessary. I wore a classic grey dress that I really liked and put on my makeup. "Sister, you look like a princess" Rüya said admiringly to which I hugged her. "Thank you, and you look like a princess too". I was walking towards the door of Ekim's door and listened to her mom saying that she wore Ekim's dress the last time with Ekim's father. I felt sad for my best friend because I know how much the leaving of her father hurt her and how mad she is. So after her mom walked out, I hugged her and whispered to her that I'm lucky to have her.

At the cocktail party, we stood at a table and I looked around the setting. It was a classy elegant party that screams rich and pay attention. The director obviously wants this to end great for the school and leave a good impression. I saw Melisa and Ozan at one table and wondered if Kanat would show up since he usually doesn't like parties.

My thoughts were interrupted by the director who started his speech. He called each of us on for a picture and I went there together with Ekim and didn't notice Kanat's eyes on me.

After a while the mood went down and I went over to a table to take a drink but once I tried to reach for one a voice from behind me spoke "Rüya has grown up a lot" Kanat started which made me turn around and flicker my eyes to Rüya who was dancing and swirling around like a fairy. A smile immediately found its way up my face "Yes, she has" I simply nodded not daring to tell him how often she asked about Kanat because they were super close as well as he loves children a lot.

One of that damn ability so that you can't help but admire him more. I used to admire his way with children a lot, it was super cute but times change quickly.
His look wandered down to my dress and my shoes and I couldn't help the blush that washed over me and he must have seen it because he had that stupid smirk.

"I feel like this is one of those weird scenarios, he stated, that will change a lot for us" to which I scoffed "There isn't an us anymore, Kanat" and I tried to walk past him but he gently took my wrist and pulled my hand on his shoulder as a song played and put his other hand on my waist "Do you really believe that? I let you leave once and I'm not letting you leave again" he stated deep, kind of in a whisper.

I became nervous to his proximity since this feels surreal. I never thought I'd see him again, let alone be in this position right now. A wave of nostalgia hit me. This, him and me. I wished we separated because of different circumstances so that it wouldn't be this difficult but I changed a lot. However, the effect he has on me didn't change and all so I couldn't say anything as I just danced with him and tried to avoid eye contact.

Our moment was interrupted by Ayse's father, who grabbed her and forced her to go home. This wasn't supposed to happen. I looked panic at Kanat and went towards our table.

(Note: I love this chapterrrr and I was able to use more gifs for it. First of all, I'm planning to write more flashbacks on Kanat and Ela and I really love her dynamic with Hazal and Ekim. Also I couldn't find a gif with her in a dress and her short hair but this was what she should have looked like:

Alsooo I'll probably update this in a week with the last chapter of the first episode and I'm so exited to write the second one cause the action is starting there and Kanat and Ela will have many tense scenes and PLEASE let me know what you think so far 🥺🫶)
