Oh School - What A Joy...Not!

I woke up to the sound of birds chirping. A sweet melody in the background. Haha yeah right. I woke up to the sound of Caine falling of the bed at around 6 am.

"How the hell are you on the floor?" I asked, holding in laughter at his disgruntled form.

"Oh, you know its the new craze. Sleeping on the floor. Everyone is doing it so I thought to myself, Caine, why enjoy the luxury of a bed when you can break your back on the floor?"

I broke out laughing and got out of our small bed to help him up.

"Caine as much as I love you, your a klutz."

"Yes, ha ha ha very funny Cass but don't forget it you, not me who has school today. Remember?"

Damn. I threw a glare at him at the thought of having to start a new school. As I saw Caine getting to his feet, I couldn't resist pushing him over again.

"CASSANDRA!" He screamed as he lay on the floor once more.

"What? Don't look at me. I have SCHOOL to get ready for." I replied, a smug look on my face. I started for the shower but turned around to face him once more with a question on my tongue.

"Wait Caine, does the head teacher know about my eyes?"

"Yeah, and after a long time of me discussing how you had photophobia, she agreed to letting you wear dark glasses indoor because of them."

"Photophobia?"

"Yeah its a condition where your eyes are sensitive to light and water a lot so sunglasses help make it better for you to get over this 'physical challenge'."

I nodded as he told me all this and was happy that he had managed to come up with something real and believable to help me with my er problem. You see, I have purple eyes. Yes. Purple eyes. I was born with them. They aren't the type of purple I can lie and say are really dark blue because my eyes are really vivid. Imagine really bright purple orbs with tiny flecks of grey. Yep they are my eyes. I love them and Caine has managed to not stare to long into them because if you do, you end up wanting to do anything for me.

Yep. Anything. I know what your thinking, that kind of power would be so useful so why am I hiding it? The truth is I want to let people make decisions on their own and not take away that freedom from them. Oh and the small matter that I sort of look like a freak. A sexy freak but still a freak. Anywhore yes I had to get ready didn't I? Damn school. I hated it already and I hadn't even set my eyes on it.

I walked over to our small bathroom and stripped before stepping into our shower. After 20 minutes of wash, rinse and repeating I walked out of the shower, wrapping a towel around my body and another around my mid-back length black hair.

I sat on the bed, making sure not to wake Caine up. He needed the sleep since he works nights and is the only source of income for us. I leaned over to kiss his forehead and smiled when he mumbled in his sleep.

I got out my small make up bag from the dresser near the bed and applied a little gold and black eyeshadow then some hot pink lipgloss. I used the mirror in my eyeshadow case to make sure I looked good. Make up wise. And damn I did. I know myself that I am pretty even beautiful but not stunning like supermodel worthy. I had mocha coloured skin and was blessed with not having any spots. I was also happy with my chest. Not too big, not to small. Perfect.

Walking down the stairs, I plugged in the hair dryer and set it on medium so as not to wake Caine up. After it had dried I went back upstairs, plugged in the curler and got to work curling my hair. After I got it looking how I wanted it to, in perfect curls down my back, I took the plug out and set the curler aside.

Hmm now what to wear? I opened my closet that I shared with Caine and almost everything I had was black. Black, black, black oh and more black. I could risk it by wearing one of Caine's T-shirt with my jean shorts and black army boots. But would I look hostile on my first day? Eh who cares.

I slipped on the white shirt that had the peace sign on it in black. Then the shorts and finally my black ankle socks and army boots.

Glasses? Where are my sunglasses? Ah found them. I grabbed my glasses that were perched on top of the dresser and ran downstairs to finally eat. I put to slices of breads in the toaster and wait for it to make as I grab the carton of orange juice from the fridge. As the toaster nearly threw my toasts into the air, I grabbed them and placed them on a plate. I grabbed my small side bag and quickly put in my phone, make up bag and other things I thought essential.

I then went on to eat my toasts and ran outside to my baby. My beautiful black Harley! I went back inside to pull on my leather jacket over my shirt then went out and sat on my Harley. I put on my helmet since Caine would kill me if he found out that I drove without it.

Thankfully I had heard of Riverside and I knew it was only a 25 minute drive away. I started up my bike and drove quite precariously to my new school. As it came into view, I parked my bike near the entrance of the school and turned to the side as I took of my helmet and really quickly slid on my glasses.

I checked my appearance in my side mirror of the motorbike and sorted out my hair.

Well Cassie you can go either one of two ways here. You can be nice, make friends and have a blast or be a bitch like you have been already and just wait till I graduate with no ties and no emotions or broken hearts. Yep. Definitely the second one.

I lifted my head high, plastered a hot smirk on my face and walked to the entrance of the school, swaying my hips. (What? You gotta give the boys something to look at ;) )

I could feel people's gazes at me. Well certainly on my back lower region. I smirked inwardly as I caught snippets of conversations.

"Who is she?"

"Slut alert."

"Wait till Xavier sees her."

Hm..Xavier? Eh whatever I had bigger issues then to worry about some guy who was probably an asshole/player even though his name sent shivers down my spine.

I made my way to the reception where a sweet looking old woman greeted me and handed my my schedule. I thanked her and first I went to find my locker.

After passing the reception for the fifth time and still not being able to locate my locker, the old woman at the reception desk asked a student to come help me. A boy with sandy blonde hair and pretty green eyes came over to me whilst I was leaning against the desk and stood infront of me.

He was going to introduce himself but I cut him off before he could even begin.

"Right. Yes I'm new here but no I dont want nor do I need your help. So go back and shoo." I told him, adding a small smile on my face at the end.

The poor boy turned and went back to the receptionist whilst I for the sixth time went to find my locker. 561. 562. 563. GOT IT. Yes! 563 was my locker, it was on the second floor of the school building. I opened it and threw in my helmet and jacket. I closed the locker and turned around then glanced down at my schedule and when I looked back up I had attracted a small crowd of people who looked at me intently.

I let out a forced cough and exclaimed, "Are we in a zoo?"

"No." Came a reply from someone within the crowd.

"So why are you looking at me?!" This should set me off on a bad start meaning no one would want to approach me after this.

The small crowd scattered and I went back to looking at my schedule. I was in room 12A for English. I looked for the door numbers and eventually found it and saw it was to early yet to go to my lesson so I decided to find my other classes or at least the dining area.

I walked around and saw nobody dared look me in the eye or talk to me. I smirked inwardly. News travels fast eh?

I saw the dining area and visually memorised where it was and was about to walk back to my lesson when a husky scent blew my way.

It smelt full of manliness. If that makes sense. Take everything that makes a man and put in a perfume. Voila. We have that tempting scent. But where was it coming from? I turned around slowly and my jaw dropped. Yup. School just got exciting.
