y/n was by no means a messy painter.

she would purposely place blue paper towels over her art piece just so that her fingers wouldn't get mucky, and she even brings an extra painting t-shirt to avoid ruining her clothes.

she's currently humming along quietly to an upbeat pop song playing on the radio, the thin brush in her grasp travelling across the thick page in one single, smooth stroke. it perfectly overlines the faded pencil mark around the pink petals.

"l/n," her art teacher calls out, causing the female to look up. "i need to go collect something from the printer, so i'll leave you here for now. don't forget to grab something for lunch, okay?"

y/n nods and the teacher swiftly leaves the classroom. she then turns back down to concentrate on her piece again, almost finished with the third flower on the paper.

─────

with a satisfied smile, y/n gently places the wet paintbrush to one side before lifting up the almost finished piece. she had done a good job with the shading and the lighting.

i might actually be able to finish this before tomorrow...

she thinks to herself, happy with how fast her to-do list was shrinking. at this rate, she'll be ahead of everyone and everything. and that would also mean so, so much free time.

the very thought has her eager to finish.

y/n was about to pick up the paintbrush again, ready to clean it in the now-murky water, before she hears a stern voice from the door.

"l/n, have you had lunch yet?"

the mentioned student looks up, a slightly sheepish expression on her face. "uh, not yet... but i'll definitely get it soon!"

"lunch ends in 10 minutes, i'd hurry up if i was you."

y/n quickly lifts herself from her seat, slipping off her painting shirt and leaving it atop of her chair before getting ready to set off. "okay, i'll go now! thank you for reminding me." she smiles at the art teacher when she passes them, and then she leaves for the dining hall.

the teacher sighs. "that kid..."

─────

y/n speedwalks down the stairs and stops in front of the school vending machines, deciding that she didn't want to go and get a hot lunch. there were a few boys sitting just next to the machines and they seemed to be having a very engaging conversation.
