CHAPTER 38

"Gwenchanh-a, jagiya." - It's alright, honey. The man looked one last time at Amelia. "Geunyeoneun tteonanda." - She's leaving.

Rinig na rinig niya ang pag hinga ni Amelia ng malalim. But from what she could see. Amelia knew the man. At habang tinititigan ni Sam ang lalake. Napapansin niya ang pagkakahawig ng dalawa.

Nanlaki ang mga mata niya. Realization hit her. Lalo na nang humarap na sa kanya si Amelia.

H-He was her father!

She saw her face stricken with tears. Her nostrils are flaring too.

Napatda ito nang makita siya at agad na pinunasan ang luha sa mga mata. Sam walked towards Amelia pero nilagpasan lang siya nito.

Amelia put a hand to her face and loudly sobbed. Tumakbo ito palayo. Sam was left there with her mouth hanging open.

Sam closed her fist tightly bago niya titigan ang lalake. Masama ang titig niya dito.

Her looked at her as if she was crazy. "Geunyeoui munjeneun mueos-ibnikka?" - What's her problem?

The older woman glared at her before turning the wheelchair around. "Yeogi michin salmdeul-i issseubnida. Dol-adanjji mallago haessji!" - There are crazy people here. I told you not to wander around!

"Have you seen Amelia Dad?"

"No. Hindi siya bumalik dito." Her Dad sat upright. "Bakit? Ano bang nangyari?"

Nakita niya ang pag aalala sa mukha nito. Sam bit her lip. "I'll call her."

Tumakbo ulit siya palabas ng kwarto nito. Napailing na lang siya. Then she took her phone out and dialed Amelia's number. Nakailang ring na pero hindi nito iyon sinasagot.

"The number you have called is busy at the moment. Please try again later."

She clenched her jaw then put a hand between her eyebrows and massaged them. Where are you?

She dialled one more time and walked towards the exit of the hospital. Maybe Amelia choose to go home dahil ayaw nitong makita niya itong umiiyak. But didn't she say to Amelia that she's always here no matter what?

It also goes with her family problems! Andito siya sa lahat ng bagay na iyon.

Tinitigan niya ang parking mula sa pwesto niya. Then she saw Amelia walking towards her own car. Mabilis na tumakbo si Sam papunta sa elevator. She tapped the ground button a few times. Tinititigan na nga siya ng masama ng ibang tao. But she didn't care. Ang mahalaga sa kanya ng mga oras na iyon ay maabutan si Amelia.

She saw how her boss was hurt. Gusto niya itong i-comfort. Sumasakit ang dibdib niya sa nakikitang sakit sa mga mata nito kanina. It was the most vulnerable moment she had seen Amelia. Hindi niya pa ito nakitang umiyak. Ngayon pa lang. What ever the old man said to her must have affected her so much. Hindi niya alam na ganito pala ang relasyon nito sa Dad nito.

Sam exhaled a breath when the doors closed, and it started to come down.

Mabilis siyang tumakbo palabas. Sinamaan siya ng titig ng ibang nakasakay nang mabangga niya ang balikat ng mga ito.

"S-Sorry. May hinahabol lang po."

Pagkasabi nun ay tumakbo siya papunta sa parking. Amelia was already in the car and was about to drive away. Nang umandar ang sasakyan nito ay patakbong humarang siya sa harap ng sasakyan nito.

Nakita niya ang panlalaki ng mga mata nito. Her cheeks are still wet from the tears.

"Amelia! Stop the car right now! Talk to me, please!"

Dumapa na talaga siya sa harap ng sasakyan nito.

Umiling ito at muling naglandas ang luha sa mga mata nito.

"Amelia. Please let me comfort you. Bumaba ka na diyan. Tell me what happened."

Nanginig ang mga labi nito. As another tear fell parang pinipiga ang puso niya. Her boss pressed the unlock button. Saka nito inilagay ang kamay sa mukha then Amelia sobbed again.

Sam went to the side of the door and opened the door. She can hear Amelia's shuddering breath.

She inhaled deeply and went in for a hug. Lalong lumakas ang hagulgol nito.

"It's ok." Sam rubbed Amelia's back. "It's ok. I'm here."

"H-He always asked me if I need money. I don't need it, Sam." Nabasa ang balikat niya nang sumiksik doon si Amelia. "I want to be close to him but he wouldn't let me. Ni hindi ko nga alam na andito siya sa Pilipinas that he was in an accident. All my life I am begging for my father's love. I-I don't want to pero sa tuwing nakikita ko siya at naaalala I felt like I am a mistake. Over and over again, Sam."

Sam bit her lip hard. There was so much hurt in Amelia's voice. Hindi niya alam na ganun pala ang pakikitungo ng ama nito.

Maswerte pa siya kung tutuusin dahil kahit matigas ang ulo niya ay mahal na mahal siya ng dad niya. Kaya siguro madali itong nakagaanan ng loob ng Dad niya. Amelia is looking for a father figure.

Hindi na lang siya kumibo sa sinabi nito. She just hugged Amelia. Gusto niyang maramdaman nito na andito lang siya para dito. No matter what.
