Class wasn't what I was expecting.
It was full of teenagers laying on tables with blood all over the tables and organs spilled across it.
As if they were being tested.
For samples...
Apparently, this is what the chairman called science on my timetable.
Tears of shock and fear fill my eyes as I stare in total shock at my science class.
No way....is this why I'm here? Along with hundreds of other teenagers? To be experimented on?
To be tested?
To be used as a sample of something?
I stumble in my tracks as I run in search of someone. When I bump into someone. I look up to see Matt looking down at me.
Did I mention how much we apparently look alike?
I don't think we do....but still....it's weird.
"Matt...." I manage to say through my tears.
"Hi." He simply says. I look back towards the direction of the room and notice him do the same before returning his gaze to me.
"What's wrong Sara? You should be in class." He says.
I shake my head. "I can't go into my science class, people are being tested on!" I cry.
Matt shakes his head and chuckles. "Sara, come with me." He says, placing his hand on the small of my back, making me jump slightly to his warm touch.
We return to the room and I see some teenagers are cutting up the bodies.
A teacher comes up to us and looks from me to Matt. "Is there a problem sir?" He asks. Matt shakes his head.
"No sir, no problem here. She just couldn't find her class." Matt says quickly glancing at me and giving me a look before looking back at the teacher.
"Okay, would you like to follow me young lady? We're just learning about decay in the body, and don't worry, they're not real people. So you're not killing anyone or anything like that, thanks sir for escorting her to class." The teacher says to Matt, who nods and leaves.
I follow the teacher to a table where a boy my age is working independently. I stare down at the fake-yet-so-real body that lies on the table.
"You okay?" I hear a familiar voice ask me. I look up to my left and see that the boy I'm working with is looking at me.
"I saw you run to get someone when you were about to walk in. You looked like you saw something terrible." He says.
I nod. "I did. I thought, by the sight of this lesson, that we're all here -us teenagers- to be used in horrible ways." I say, shuddering at the thought of what we could truly be here for.
"Yeah, I know, it's nasty, doing this, but we have to do it for today. I don't like it though." He says making a face of disgust as he separates organs from each other.
He removes his goggles and two greenish-grey eyes look at me. I smile and recognise the boy as Troy. My now best friend.
"I would hug you but my hands are covered in blood and other disgusting bits. Also I don't want to ruin your outfit." Troy smiles.
I blush and Troy laughs, wiping his hands and then hugging me. I hug him back and we continue to dissect the body.
I manage not to gag throughout the whole lesson and soon the lesson is over and we go to get lunch together.
With our trays in our hands, we sit at a table and eat, and two other teenagers sit with us. One male and one female.
The boy doesn't say much, he just flicks his blonde hair to the side and starts eating. The girl however, greets me and Troy both with a big smile. Her chocolate brown eyes shining.
"Hey! I'm Grace, and that's Alex. What are your names?" Wow, this girl is so cliché. I smile back and introduce myself.
"I'm Sara." I simply reply. Troy smiles at her and introduces himself by simply saying his name.
At the mention of his name, Alex looks up at us from his plate, with spaghetti halfway into his mouth.
I glance at Troy and raise a brow, but he just shrugs.
After a long conversation with Grace and Alex, Troy and I leave and head outside onto the balcony.
"That was....weird, did you see the way they just sat down with us at the table?" Troy asks.
"I know! And that girl Grace is creepy!" I say, earning a laugh from Troy. I giggle.
"But still....what do you want to do?" Troy asks, looking at me. I shrug and look at him smiling.
Troy smiles and shakes his head. " Ok, we'll just sit here."
On air. I made chairs out of air for us to sit on. Cool right?
I have no idea what to do now...I feel like doing something, but I don't know what.
I glance at Troy, he catches me staring at him and looks at me, I quickly look back at the view of the campus below, but I know that he caught me anyway.
"You must have a certain liking for my face...you keep staring at it. Do you like me or something?" He asks and my eyes widen.
Troy just laughs. "I'm kidding." I exhale in relief, adding in a laugh.
"What about you, what do you think we should do?" I ask him. He shrugs and looks below at the campus view.
"We could have a little walk around....I don't know." He replies.
I nod. "Yeah, let's do that. Where to?"
"I don't know. Wherever our feet take us." He says.
So we took a stroll around the garden and talked for a while before it was time to head to our last class for the day.
