"I will, mama." He smiles sweetly before running to the couch.

"You'll be asleep when I get home, so I'll see you in the morning." She sighs, turning to the front door as there is a knock and she opens to find Adam looking dashing in a black tux. "Wow. Hi."

"Wow me?" Adam's mouth parts, his eyes traveling slowly down and back up to her eyes as she blushes. She wore a long green strapless dress with a deep v and a long slit up to her thigh on the right side. "You look beautiful, Addie. Amazing."

She blushes as she accepts his hand to lead her out to the car. "Thank you, Adam."

The sit in silence on the way to the gala as Audrey tries to calm the nervous butterflies in her stomach. She was still reeling from her conversation with Laurie earlier and she knew more than ever that she needed to talk to Andy about Braeden as soon as she could. She decided she would talk to him on Monday when they were alone in the office.

Adam holds his arm out to Audrey as he leads her into the party. Everyone was dressed formally, the men in tuxes and she was happy with her choice of dress. Her heart catches when spots Andy with an attractive brunette on his arm who she now knew was his girlfriend, Lily. His gaze caught hers, smiling at her as he made his way toward her and Adam.

"Barber." Adam shakes Andy's hand as Andy keeps his eyes on Audrey.

Andy locks eyes with Audrey's, his heart racing as he smiles at her. He doesn't bother looking at Adam as he shakes his hand. "Nice to see you, Michelson. Audrey, this is Lily."

Audrey smiles at Lily who seems to have noticed that Andy hadn't stopped staring at Audrey. "It's nice to meet you, Lily."

"Likewise." Lily smiles but it doesn't reach her eyes as she grips Andy's arm harder. "You must be the new attorney at the office?"

Audrey nods, swallowing hard as she tries to ignore Andy's gaze. "That's right." She glances down, feeling slightly better to see that Lily's left hand is bare before she pulls Adam away from them. "Please don't leave me alone with him."

He laughs, squeezing her hand. "I'll try. I'm going to the rest room real quick. I'll be right back." He dips down to kiss her cheek, taking the chance to kiss her lips instead as she blushes, kissing him back with a grin before he walks away. She turns away, to find the bar, ordering two whiskeys.

"Ms. Parker!"

She smiles, turning to come face to face with Neal Loguidice. "Neal. How are you?"

He smiles, kissing her cheek before giving her a small hug. "Good. You look amazing. I heard you were back and working with Andy no less."

She sighs, finishing both her own drink and Adam's before ordering two more. "That's right."

He chuckles, leaning on the bar beside her. "It can't be that bad."

She groans, motioning to where Andy is talking quietly to Lily. "You know it is."

He chuckles again, shrugging. "They aren't married. Unless that's your thing."

She laughs, blushing as she hits him in the arm. "Shut up!"

"Trust me, I've met her. He is settling. If you want him, you can have him."

She sighs, taking her drinks from the bar. "Thanks, Neal. I'll see you later. It was nice to see you."

"You too." He squeezes her arm reassuringly before walking away.

She finds her and Adam's seats as he approaches her and she hands him his drink. "I realized I didn't ask what you liked."

He laughs, sniffing before taking a large drink. "Whiskey is perfect." He grabs both of their drinks and sets them on the table before grabbing her hand. "Dance with me."

"Okay." She smiles, letting him lead her to the dance floor, noticing Andy leading Lily not too far away from them as Audrey sighs, looking away from them.

Adam sighs, making her look up at him. "You're really not over him, are you?" He glances at Andy watching them before looking back down at Audrey as her face turns red.

"I... I don't know how to answer that, Adam. I have his son, and I never really got closure."

"I get it. You haven't told him?"

She shakes her head with a small sigh. "I plan on telling him on Monday."

"Okay... Well, we aren't kids anymore, Addie. I was hoping to start back up what we had before. I want to see if there could be something there again. But we can't if you're still into your ex. I don't even know if that would be something you would want anyways. I need you to talk to me."

She groans, running a hand up to his hair as he leans into her touch. "I'm honestly not sure, Adam. I'm really sorry. I do still have feelings for you. Seeing you again solidified that for me. But you're right, I'm also not exactly over Andy either."

"Okay." He sighs, nodding, bringing his hand up to her cheek. "Why don't we just enjoy our night. You can tell me what you decide when you're ready."

"I'm sorry Adam."

"Don't be." He dips down to kiss her as he tilts her chin up to him. He smiles when he pulls away to lead them to the table.

"I'll be right back." She squeezes his hand and walks to the bathroom, taking a few minutes to calm herself as she rests her hands on the counter, hanging her head down. She takes a few more deep breaths, letting them out slowly before exiting the bathroom. She runs into Andy in the hallway as she groans.

"Audrey, you look beautiful." He chews on the corner of his mouth as she reaches out to grab her hand, but she pulls away.

She scoffs, rolling her eyes. "So does your girlfriend. Or fiancée? Which is it, Andy?"

"Just girlfriend, not fiancée." He leans closer to her, smiling at her sharp intake of air as he places his hand on her back. "You should be with me. Not him."

"Fuck you, Andy! Youdon't get to do this to me!" She hits him hard on the chest as he grunts. "Adamis a great guy, and I should be enjoying my time with him. But here you are infront of me, confusing me. You're not mine anymore, but I'm still a little bityours. And I always will be and I fucking hate it!"
