I recall the days when I thought love was possible for me.

I thought that, despite every negative emotion I felt and the immense loneliness that came with it, someone would enter my life and suddenly they would be the ember in the ashes of my fireplace which would miraculously relight the whole thing back into glorious light, to be the one to lift me out of my depression and to guide me to be the best I could be.

I thought that someone was out there for me - out of over 7.5 billion people, there would be someone for me. I used to believe in phrases like "there are plenty of fishes of sea" and "everyone gets someone". Instead, I feel like I went to the wrong sea to fish from, that not everybody gets somebody.

Those who find someone are lucky. So, so lucky. I envy them. Them and their successes and accomplishments in their life. I apologise if you are one of them, it is nothing personal. I'm not a jealous person, but love is the one thing I ever truly sought for in life. So lucky for you to gain it.

But if you're like me, don't give up. I have a reason to give up, you don't. I'm a lost cause, if everyone was born with a soulmate then my soulmate died a long time ago. Don't give up. I can see countless realities - each unique and full of visible differences. In none of them I find myself with a partner. But you - you have a chance. To gain that chance, to live in a reality where you're not alone, you must actively seek your partner out. Put yourself out there, what have you got to lose?

It appears I must return to my prison, do not let depression confine any positive emotion you have and your hope you possess. If you have no motivation to seek that person, then please do it for me. I rarely see happy endings anymore in this prison, so do me a favour and give me a happy ending to watch from the deep confines of my eternal prison.
