A/N: Originally this character was my OC for Steve Harrington (she still is 🤪) but I'd thought she'd pair well with Eddie "The Freak" Munson 🖤

FC: Lili Reinhart

Sydney Gwendolyn Hargrove is the younger twin sister of William "Billy" Hargrove by twelve minutes. She has similar blonde hair and piercing blue eyes with a slender build. She stands at about 5'6" and is known to be the nicer of the two.

Her stepsister, Max would describe her as the day to Billy's night. She seemed to be the complete opposite of her twin brother. She had a warm aura radiating around her and was definitely a people pleaser.

GROWING UP

Growing up alongside Billy had its ups and downs for Sydney, but the twins were always there for each other. As Syd grew up, her mother's distaste for her became apparent. She soon later found out that her mother only wanted a son and not a son and a daughter.

Even with Billy's hard exterior, Sydney liked to call him her guardian angel. He took the brunt of most hits from their father and he always protected her from bullies.

They had their own little Cali group including a red haired boy by the name of Vincent Green. He had fiery red hair and dark eyes with a wonderful charming personality. Sydney tried to hide her feelings from the boy, yet the older they got, the harder it was.

She was into cheer ever since she was a little and it was a good outlet for her after her mother left her and Billy with a monster. She noticed the changes in Billy the older they got, especially when she told him that she got a boyfriend and her boyfriend happened to be his closest friend.

It was freshman year, the summer before having felt like it zoomed past. Sydney felt as though she was on cloud nine; she had her first kiss over the summer and it was none other than Vincent Green.

Vincent was Billy's closest friend and Sydney swore she would never let him find out. The blonde had her hair up in a ponytail, wearing her jean jacket over a faded AC/DC shirt. She glanced over feeling a body brush into hers and giggled at Cecilia's beaming face. Cecilia Jones was her closest friend since kindergarten basically, not being able to miss her with her red hair and fiery personality to match it.

"So...how was your summer with Vincent?"

Sydney rolled her eyes at her excitement but she couldn't help the small smile on her lips. She giggled and looked down with a shrug. "It was okay."

"Now that's some bullshit if I ever smelled it," Cecilia teased. "How did it go? Don't leave me in suspense!"

Syd smiled and shook her head. "I'll call you tonight," She promised.

Throughout Sydney's time at high school in San Diego, she had grown more and more feelings for Vincent until they finally acted on their feelings and became an official couple junior year.

The news of moving to a small town in Indiana shocked the twins, Billy not taking it well. Sydney tried to hold up, mainly for her stepsister Max Mayfield. The two girls got along, finding common interests in horror movies. Syd didn't pressure her into being a girly girl which she knew the young red haired girl appreciated. She just didn't know how Vincent would react to the news.

"So, why did you call me here?" Vincent asked with a small smirk on his lips as he sat across from his girlfriend in the local ice cream parlor. Normally, they would go to the parlor then their normal makeout spot.

Sydney lightly picked at the stem of her cherry atop her chocolate milkshake, her brows furrowed. She had called Vinny out to a night of ice cream because she thought it would be easy to tell him in public in case his temper went off. It was definitely easier said than done.

She took a deep breath and closed her eyes. "I-I'm moving."

"What?"

Sydney opened her eyes and noticed Vincent's face was turning as red as his hair and she knew he was going to blow up. They started out as a happy couple, but as the months went on he started to act more and more like her brother.

"M-my dad got a transfer in Indiana and they thought it was a good opportunity," She tried to defend herself. It's not like she wanted to go to a small town and get away from the sandy beaches and the California sun, but, she had no other choice.

"Bullshit!" Vincent shouted, slamming his fist on the table causing Syd to jump and a few people peering over. "Are you moving to some shit town in Indiana so you can whore around?"

"Vinny," Sydney whispered out as tears came to her eyes. She always hated it when he called her a whore. She fought so hard to keep this relationship a float and it was tearing at the seams. "I love you."

"If you loved me, you would convince Neil to stay here."

"I-I can't." At this point, tears were falling down her cheeks. "But as soon as I graduate, I'll come back here to you."

Vincent only scoffed while standing up. "Just forget about it. The first guy you see you're going to spread your legs," He growled out before walking out, Sydney being left there feeling embarrassed as the tears continued to fall.

"Are you okay, Miss?" Their waitress asked, concerned as she brought over some napkins for the blonde girl to wipe her eyes.

Syd sniffled and nodded, pulling out a twenty dollar bill. "Keep the change," She whispered before rushing out.

The breakup with Vincent right before the move to Hawkins, Indiana had been extremely hard on her, but as she played her Iron Maiden cassette tape with her windows rolled down in her 1973 dark green Ford F-350 pick up truck, she decided that she would make a fresh start in the small town.
