(Cassie's Point of View)

Now that help is on the way I breath out a sigh of relieve. I continue to try and take slow deep breaths as I am still struggling to breath a little bit and the pain in my stomach is worse than it was when I first woke up but thankfully my dizziness has dissipated a bit. I then realize that I need to unlock the front door for Riley. I take a few more deep breaths and I carefully move my legs out from under the covers and I let them dangle from the side of the bed. I then take another deep breath and I stand up steadying myself. Though I still feel like I might pass out I realize I need to get to the door now. I grab my phone off my bed and as quickly as I can I walk out of the bedroom and to the front door to unlock it. I quickly unlock it and and I open it so I can unlock the metal screen door. As soon as the cool nighttime air hits me I surprisingly feel slightly better. I then unlock the metal screen door and I open it. Once that is unlocked I close the front door. Just as I am about to walk back to the bedroom because I need shoes and possibly some different clothes I feel another wave of dizziness hit me and I decide I should sit down but as I am sitting down my body gets weak and I crumble the rest of the way to the floor.

(Riley's Point of View)

I have just arrived at Cassie's apartment, it then dawns on me that she lives on the 3rd floor of a walk up apartment. Luckily there is an empty parking spot right near the front of the complex so I quickly park. Once I am parked I jump out of the car and run up the stairs until the reach the third floor. Once I get to the third floor I look for her apartment number. Once I spot it I walk to the door and I see that the security door is open. I then try the knob of the actual front door and it opens. I then quickly open the door and I am surprised to see Cassie crumbled on the floor near the front door. I then rush over to her bend down next to her and as soon as I am next to her I can hear that she is struggling to breath and I say "Cassie." She doesn't respond and I shake her a little and I say "Cassie, it's me Riley." She then responds with something incoherent and I realize that this situation is very serious and I need to call 911, because there is no way I can carry her down the stairs. My heart is pounding and my hands are shaking as I grab my phone out of my pocket and I dial 911.

911 Operator: You have reached 911, what is your emergency?

Me: (in a shaky voice) My friend called me saying she needed to get to the hospital. I just arrived at her house and she is pretty out of it and she is very short of breath. I don't know much aside from that but I do know she is a type 1 diabetic.

911 Operator: What is the location of your emergency?

Me: 3680 ***** Unit 307 Oceanside, CA

911 Operator: Thank you, I have dispatched an ambulance and it should be there in less than 5 minutes. I have some additional questions for you. What is your friends name and age?

Me: Her name is Cassandra Salazar but she goes by Cassie for short and she is 23 years old

911 Operator: Thank you, what is your name and what is a good call back number for you?

Me: My name is Riley and my phone number is (619) ***-****

911 Operator: Thank you Riley, do you know if your friend lost consciousness at all?

Me: I don't know, but I don't think so and she is current conscious

I quickly check on Cassie to make sure she is breathing. Thankfully she still is and I take my hand and I grab hers and I squeeze it.

911 Operator: Is there a specific hospital that your friend would like to be brought to and is there an emergency contact that needs to be notified?

Me: Her husband is a Marine on active duty in Iraq right now, so right now I'm her best emergency contact and if possible can she brought to a hospital on base?
