So there's a convenience store near by my office which is most times run by a kid. Today morning, we had a guest who came pretty early. He arrived even before me and my dad. I entered the office and was prepping the room.

Suddenly realized that; we finished all the coffee last night.

So I jolted off to the nearby convenience store to buy some.

Every time they bring a stock full of coffee; I go and buy all of it. So it was unlikely they had the coffee I usually buy. But no harm in trying.

Before that, let's time travel to a few days back. I was looking for an LED bulb. So I went for that same nearby convenience store ran by the kid.

But that day, the kid wasn't there. The store had a shy and timid looking teenager inside instead. Hands on her elbow. Eyes bouncing around my silhouette as I walked up to the store.

I felt a bit scared. Don't worry that's my usual reaction to irregular things.

I looked at her and asked "You got bulbs?"

And... This is the name of the story... The expression she gave was planted onto my prefrontal cortex.

Her eyes widened; looking like a black dot on an egg. And a little frown on that pretty face of hers. That expression was almost speaking to me "HOW DO I KNOW? Why are you asking me? Do I know? Should I know?"

But the girl spoke something else with her gentle and panicky voice "Umm I don't know. I don't sit here often"

I... a bit awkwardly walked back and away from the store "Oh, you don't sit here often. Ok!" softly muttering to myself even though it was actually meant for her to hear.

But after I had left. The face she had made was stuck in my head.

I kept thinking of it as I ran my errand. I laughed and chuckled at it. Not because that face was funny. But because I could relate to her.

I also would've had a bit of a panic and would've been a bit upset for not being able to sell something that the store might've had.

Anyways... fast forward to today.

I was jolting to that same nearby store. In hopes of finding my will to live.

I mean coffee of course.

But I found something better;

Her.

I didn't know I missed her until I saw her again.

I noticed I was smiling. Quite brightly in fact to the sight of her.

Last time I must've made her feel bad. Because she failed to sell me something that her store MIGHT'VE had. Thus, my plans were a bit changed. I was gonna chitchat with her.

NOT THE WAY YOU ARE THINKING! Let me explain.

First of all, I wanted her to not panic again. And also, I hadn't really seen that little kid for a long time.

So~

"Hey, Where's the little kid?"

"He's still at home" She replied in her gentle but still fairly timid voice. And her rural accent was so subtle too. Perfect for what she looked like.

I understood that they must be siblings then. I don't know what I was going to do with that million dollar mystery solution. But it grazed by me.

I replied "Oh!"

Hey... I told you... It was only gonna be a chit chat. I'm not a conversational wizard. I'm as shy and anxious as her.

That's why I can understand her thoughts. Only reason why I'm off the hook is because she is on that side of the store frame.
