Mornings with Zhongli (*¯︶¯*)

When Childe met Zhongli, he had never planned for this to happen.  Laying in the bed of an ex-archon was definitely not a part of his agenda.  Who's agenda would it even be a part of? 

But one thing was for sure; now that he was here, there was most likely no way he would ever be able to let go of Zhongli.  Childe was just that type of person, he loved people to the point that letting go was detrimental.  Zhongli was too kind to him, he did too many deeds for him, he treated him way to nicely considering Childe was a harbinger.  

Who in their right mind would be able to let go?

Waking up under the warm sunlight shining through Zhongli's window wasn't a familiar feeling, but Childe welcomed the thought of it happening more often.  Childe waking up in Zhongli's bed had been occurring on and off for the past week, but he was already starting to warm up to the change.  He loved the cozy atmosphere that surrounded him, and the pleasant vanilla aroma that he woke up to.  With Zhongli asleep next to him, almost everything felt perfect; it really felt perfect when Zhongli would finally wake up.  At that moment Childe felt a pair of strong arms wrap around him in an embracing hug.

" Good morning Childe. "

" Good morning Zhongli, " Childe smiled through his words.

Zhongli also preferred this part of the morning.  He knew Childe wasn't going anywhere, at least not yet, and he loved having him right next to him.  Childe was always busy with work and the thought of Zhongli losing Childe to work related incidents always paralyzed him with fear; Zhongli learned to appreciate the mornings more.

He looks absolutely breathtaking under the sunlight, will I always be able to see him like this?  Will he stay here with me for just a bit longer?  Zhongli didn't want to think anymore.

So he stopped thinking, and just did.

At that moment Childe was rushed into the most heartwarming kiss he had ever felt.  The light was golden around them and it was almost like-

Heaven.  This is definitely heaven.  I'm dreaming.  There's no way I am sitting here in such a beautiful place with such a beautiful person.  Childe couldn't handle it.

When they finally pulled away, they were both beaming.  All of the sudden Zhongli felt a strong pinch on his arm.

" Did you just pinch me Ajax? " Zhongli began to laugh.

" I was so sure that I was dreaming.  I had to be sure this wasn't a dream. " Childe said while looking at Zhongli like the he had the world in his hands.

Zhongli pulled Childe in for another kiss; he didn't know what else to do.  All he knew is that he wanted to show Childe that this wasn't a dream.  He was there and he wouldn't go anywhere. 

Childe held Zhongli for the next ten minutes as if they were the last moments he would get with him.  In a way they were; he had to get up for work soon and he knew it would most likely be another three to four days without him.  It took all Childe had in him to finally get up and shower.  Zhongli trailed soon after just so he could get ready with him; it was like their routine.  It was consistent and it reminded Zhongli he had something to look forward to next time he saw Childe.

" You didn't waste all the hot water now did you, " Zhongli asked knowing well that Childe loved his showers freezing.

" Of course not!  How would I ever do such a thing, "  Childe said in a playful disgusted voice.

He was all smiles this morning Zhongli realized.  It seemed as though Childe was really starting to feel comfortable with him.

" Come here and give me another hug before I take my shower, five minutes seems a little too unbearable without you as of right now, "  Zhongli softly spoke.  He really didn't want to waste another moment without Childe.

" I absolutely adore your pancakes and tea; almost as much as I adore you, " Childe laughed.

" It's good to know that you still love me more than pancakes and my delightful tea, " Zhongli joked, looking up at Childe sitting next to him on the counter.

Childe had to admit that Zhongli was most likely the best cooker he had ever met.  Maybe it was the years of experience he had, or maybe Zhongli was just talented.  Either way this was definitely one of the most delightful parts of spending the morning with Zhongli.  Childe was always pampered- Zhongli just adored being able to take care of someone else.

" Foods ready Ajax, " Zhongli was met with silence.

" Stop staring at me and come eat love, " Zhongli laughed.

Childe felt like melting-
He just called me love.  No way, there's absolutely no way.

"Agh- A love arrow just shot me straight through the heart I swear, " Childe swooned as he hopped off the counter to eat with Zhongli. 

" Am I truly that breathtaking? " Zhongli teased.

Childe rolled his eyes, " Just let me enjoy this meal with you in peace please. "

Mornings with Zhongli were always perfect.
