Kaeya x Y/N <3 comfort

"Hmph..." As you slowly wake up, your eyes fluttering in the early morning light. Unlike most people in Mondstat...well all of Teyvat to be exact, you like to wake up early.

People may think it's weird, but to you, it's an opportunity to get away from the crowds.
Anxiety somehow always get to the best of you...not like you don't like talking to people/friends...but it's sometimes just plain annoying.

As you wake up, you start to wonder if Amber is already waiting for her at the city gates. Amber always is up early in the morning, surprisingly, but you were fine with her. She was useful for commissions, and was a good person to talk to overall.

As you get ready, such as showering and dressed (perhaps forgetting to brush your teeth at times), you set off to go meet Amber by the gates.

As you continued to go up to the gate, you noticed a conversation...it was quiet from this distance, but from the factor that Amber does not talk to herself and that she is a social butterfly, you realize that it most likely was one of her friends.

You try to avoid by walking away, since you were already not to close, but remember you promised Amber to help her. Ugh...I would never hear the end of it..., you would think about what she would say if you "lie" about helping her.

As you step out near the gate, you glance at the two figures..one who you recognized, and another...who looked familiar...but you don't remember where.

"Hello there Y/N!!" Amber waved excitedly. "Hello Amber.." you would glance towards the man, getting a good view at him. He had an eyepatch, which his indigo hair mostly covered. He had one icy eye showing, and looking at his clothing, he had a more of an...

"Pirate fashion??" you'd say out loud. Amber, who's been trying to reach your zoning out self for a while 5 minutes, had a face full of visible confusion. "Huh? Pirate fashion..?"

The fiery outlander would look down and now having a face full of worry. "My clothing looks like a pirate..?" The mysterious man with pirate clothing would chuckle, looking at Amber, "I believe your friend meant me."

He said, now glancing down at yourself. "Ohhh...let me introduce you guys by the way!" She hold out an hand, presenting yourself. "This is Y/N. They're a traveler who a couple months ago started helping me with my commissions! Ahem.." Amber would look away shyly.

"Y/N is also my close friend- Kaeya I don't think you ever met Y/N.." The pirate man named Kaeya would glance down at yourself, and smile, lending out a hand for a handshake. "It's nice to meet you Y/N. I hope we could be more closer in the future." He'd give a sly smile that made you feel suspicious of him.

"Yea..sure." You neglected his hand, but kind of shaking it by only touching his fingers and shaking them. Amber, who obviously didn't notice the tense interaction, started to talk about their commissions and what was planned later on.

The small group of 3 stopped by a hillichurl camp which seemed already abandoned..as if someone left quickly- in a rush. Kaeya would step forward, and kneel down, looking around the camp. "Interesting.. it seems like no fight was involved.."

Amber would lift a camp sheet slightly. "Hillichurls were definitely here..we should search the camp if there are some details of the reason of their departure."

During your search of the camp, you lean towards Amber, feeling stupid but you needed to discuss something very important to her. "Amber-!! AMBER." You would whisper angrily and loudly. Amber's headband would come up ever so slightly and she comes over to your aid.

"What's up?" "SHUUSHH-" Afraid that Kaeya might think somethings up, you grab Amber and drag her down to crouch. "OWOW-" "SHHH AND LISTEN." You'd whisper loudly.

"Why's HE here?" "Who..?" You tilt your head towards Kaeya, who seems like he wasn't paying any attention. "Kaeya?" "YES YES HIM." She'd blink in confusion, and smile, worriedly. "Well..." "WELLL..??"

"He heard there was a new hero in Mondstat who was destroying hillichurl camps left and right.." She started scratching the back of her head. "And I'm not a great liar...so when he asked me.." All of a sudden, she started bowing to Y/N. "I'm so sorry! Please forgive me! I know you don't like people but-" You'd sigh angrily and look at Amber. "It's fine..."

Before you could finish that sentence, Kaeya's voice interrupted their conversation. "If you guys are done, I think I found a clue!" He'd have a sideways smile, almost as if he was teasing them. Not even them. It felt like..it was only you. But you shook that feeling. Imagination is a cruel thing.

As you and Amber went over to Kaeya to see this "big" clue, you look at what seem like...

"A hair tie..? Seriously?" You glare at him. "Not JUST a hair tie." The pirate look-alike almost chanted. "It's the hair tie of THE culprit!" Amber looked down confused at him, which she obviously tried to hide with a smile. "Kaeya must know what he's doing Y/N..I wouldn't question it.." she'd say with a confused smile, which left no reassurance.

After a length of 15 minutes, which to a few felt like nothing, and to others felt like over 3 hours, finally the pirate man spoke. "I think I know who has done it!" You get up from the rock you were sitting on and look at him. "FINALLY- who is it?!" He looked at you, and then start to give a smile...a mischievous smile.

"There's two possible culprits." Y/N, sighing angrily, who just wants to be done with this, looks at him. "So are you saying we have to split up?" "Exactly! I knew I'd like you!" He smile. Amber looked at them, and decided before they got the chance. "I'll go for one culprit by myself- you two go for the other."

Kaeya and Y/N glance at Amber. "Are you sure?" Y/N said, worrying about her. "What if you get in some kind of trouble-" Kaeya places a hand on your shoulder, and leans down at you, whispering in your ear, just loud enough for Amber to hear. "Amber is a very strong outlander- perhaps the most strongest one I know." He give a smile. "The Knights of Favonius depend on Amber with commissions every day. I'm sure our fiery friend here will do just fine."

You notice how close he is and shuffle away slightly. While Amber, who is very touched by the Captain's words, tried hard to stay professional. "I...I'll take those words very close to heart!!" The 2 found groups, now on a path, separate to find the culprit of the missing hillichurls.

"This is going to be just peachy.." you mutter, as you look at Kaeya, watching him brightly lead the way.
