Audrey's POV

There was an alarm going off in the middle of the night down in the Man Cave. It shot me out of my slumber, stretching my limbs for only a moment before I kicked my legs over my bed, pulling my shirt down, and exiting the room.

It took me a few moments to register what the alarm was. It wasn't a regular alarm for emergencies and stuff, it was the one we used when the world was going to go through a major crisis. We call it the Doomsday Signal.

"Dad?" I called out, looking around the dark hallway before I felt myself almost trip over the sprocket door. With an annoyed grunt, I managed to get into the main room, my heart continuing to race.

"Disaster. Catastrophe." The alarm was naming out other synonyms for the word disaster.

The tube beeped, signaling that someone was about to come down. It was Henry, his hair ruffled from the, what I'm guessing, deep sleep he was just in. He wore a gray long-sleeve pajama tee with plaid pajama pants.

"Hey, darling," Henry greeted me when the tubes went back up. He planted a kiss on my forehead, and I could sense the fear in his eyes and tone of voice. "What's going on? Where's Ray?"

I shrugged, my body trembling slightly. "No idea."

The elevator door opens, and Charlotte and Jasper rush inside. I'm guessing everyone got notified of the situation. Charlotte let out a yelp. "Audrey! Henry!"

Henry reared around to see who was yelling our names. "Charlotte!" He let out a sigh of relief. "Have you seen Ray? Drey and I have no idea."

"No, where is he?!"

"I dunno!"

"Well, he's got to be around here somewhere." Jasper pointed out.

"True. I don't even know where he could possibly run off to." I agreed, starting to call out my dad's name in hopes of finding him.

Everyone else followed, searching around in different areas. After a good 20 seconds of shouting and scrambling around to see any source of trace of my dad, the door by the monitor opened. I turned around, staring as my dad walked out with a tray on wheels, covered by a plate cover.

My dad switched off the alarm, making everyone freeze in place and recognize my dad's presence. "Who wants a snack?!" He inquired, smiling proudly.

"What?" I fumed, storming down the stairs so I get on the same level as him.

"Who wants a snack?"

"Dude!" Henry shouted, not believing his words at the moment. I don't blame him. The Doomsday Signal goes off and he's offering us a snack? I can't take him seriously sometimes.

"Let me." Charlotte started, also inching toward my dad. "Hey!"

"Heyyyy!" My dad extolled in return.

She looked down at her phone for a brief moment. "It is ten after midnight!" She explained, the anger evident in her tone.

"Yeah!"

"Well, why'd you send us all the Doomsday Signal?!"

"Cuz I wanted to make sure you guys all came over." My dad answered casually as if he didn't just make us think we were all going to die.

"Dude!" Henry barked, his eyes squinting from the tiredness he was experiencing, as well as the annoyance.

My dad turned around to face him. "What?"

"Dude!"

"Yeah?"

"Dude!"

"Hey." My dad snapped his fingers and pointed to Henry.
