Ziggy was no cheerleader, no athlete, or band member. She just wants to read, listen to music and hang out with her best friend. Maybe even smoke a joint behind the bleachers and draw random doodles on the bathroom stalls with permanent ink because they were dull and boring anyway. Older folks looks at her in disappointment, wondering why she can’t be like the other girls in her school but she doesn’t care about that. She’s just another Hawkins resident trying to make it another day in a cursed town with more death and secrets than there should be in such a short period of time. She just wants there to be one year without anything big but that’s no longer possible when Hawkins’ golden girl brutally and mysteriously dies.
She sees Eddie running away that night and is left wondering what scared him so much but she also knows the town will be quick to blame him if they knew it was his trailer where it happened. So she lies. She didn’t see or hear anything and was just as shocked as everyone else. At least that’s what she told the cops.
When Ziggy’s neighbour shows up at her trailer asking her if she noticed anything weird about Eddie or Chrissy before her death, Ziggy starts to think that there’s something that she doesn’t know. She knows Eddie is no murderer but who or what killed Chrissy that night if it wasn’t him? Pretty soon, she comes to find that there is a lot about Hawkins that people don’t know.
