Meet My "Family"

I don't think I've had a goods nights rest in about 6 years. Nor has my twin brother Harry. I slept in the creepy Hall closet while he had the cupboard under the stairs. Me and Harry look nothing alike. He looks like my dad with my mum's eyes but I look like my mum with my dads eyes. This morning wasn't any different then any other day. My cousin Dudley throws things away a lot so I love to take what he is getting rid of. Once I found 2 perfect phones in the rubbish bins. I pulled both out and set them up for Harry and I. I even painted ours different colors on the clear cases. His was red and gold while mine was blue and silver. I pulled the phone out from under my "mattress" I could feel it vibrate.

H: Iris you up?

I: Yea, you need something?

H: no I just wanted to know if you were up. Dudley woke up I think. That or an elephant is lose in the house

I:🤣 Nice one.

H: come on get up I hear Aunt Petunia

I: getting up

I got up banging if my head on one of the shelves. I gasped in pain but brushed it off. I grabbed some jeans and a t-Shirt that was apparently from Uncle Vernon's Sisters daughter who came bye ever so often. I got out of my "room" at about the same time as Harry. I walked over to him and went to give him a hug but instead he started moving my hair around.

"What are you doing?" I asked pushing him away.

"Im covering your scare. They hate it" He said. I smiled. We have matching scares on different sides of our face. his on his right and mine of my left.

"Your hair is a mess I'm not even gonna try to fix it" I smiled. We laughed

"POTTERS IN THE KITCHEN NOW!" Aunt Petunia yelled. I kinda jumped. We both ran into the kitchen we knew it was Dudleys birthday so we couldn't burn the food. I started cooking bacon and Harry started making eggs right next to me. "Don't burn the bacon Iris!" Aunt Petunia yelled at me I jumped and she walked into the living room and babied Dudley. Harry put his arm around me. I have an anxiety disorder so her screaming at me doesn't help.

"Your ok" he said flipping the eggs. I took a deep breath.

"Let's just finish." I said taking the bacon off the stove. He did the same with the eggs. We brought everything to the table. Uncle Vernon had made me remake his coffee because it was cold. I grabbed his mug and did it again. When I finish I handed it back to him. Instead of a thank you I herd him mumble

"Stupid girl" I took a deep breath and sat down next to Harry. He had made both of our plates. We both had 1 slice of toast, and 1 egg. We weren't allowed to have Bacon. Once in awhile I will take some of the Bacon as soon as I finished making it but I knew I couldn't today since it was Dudleys birthday. Me and Harry ate super fast and started to walk back to our rooms.

"HARRY AND IRIS GET IN HERE AND CLEAN UP!!" We turned around and saw Uncle Vernon standing there with his arms crossed. I looked at Harry and he looked at me. We both walked in the the kitchen crying on the inside as Dudley opened his gifts. He complained that it wasn't enough. I had to laugh. Harry and I have our birthday in July and they have forgotten it every year we've been here. Harry elbowed me in the shoulder. I smiled and started clearing plates. As soon as we finish we have to go to our rooms. We have to go to Mrs.Figg. I hate her. She's old and likes cats a little to much. I said bye to Harry and closed myself in my closet. I took out my phone and texted Harry.

I:Hello

H:Yes?

I:I'm bored

H:Same

I:Un-bored me

H:How do you want me to do that?

I: idk just do it

H:Iris your weird

I: tell me something I don't know, Wait I can Uncle Vernon on the phone hold on.

I pressed my ear against the wall. The wall held one of the meant phones in the house.

"Hello Vernon Dursley.......Oh that's terrible....Are you sure...Ok...Get better" He hung up. I texted Harry.

I:I feel like it was Mrs.Figg

H:Let's hope she canceled

I;🤞

I could hear Dudley cry in the other room. I knew that wasn't good.

I: hey come get water with me

H:Why?

I: So we know what's happening in there

H:On my way

I got up and he did the same. We walked into the kitchen where the whole family was. I went to grab a cup from the drying rack and Harry did the same

"Well we can't just leave them here and the cars brand new!" Uncle Vernon yelled. "We will just have to bring them." He said I looked at Harry. Dudley and one of his friends were honing to the Zoo today. I smiled.

"Nooooo!" Dudley cried. I rolled my eyes. He is a big baby. Emphasis on big.

"Aww Dudy don't worry they won't ruin your day I promise." Aunt Petunia said. I threw up in my mouth.

"What happened to Mrs.Figg?" I asked they all glared at me.

"She broke her ankle" Uncle Vernon said. I nodded and filled up my cup with water. "Go back to your rooms we will bring you to the zoo as well" He said. I nodded slowly and walked back to my room. As soon as we left the kitchen I gave Harry a high five. I closed my door and did a small dance before getting my shoes on.
