"Chad cmon they aren't that bad." Ben muttered, leaning against his locker, which happened to be right next to Chad's.
"I know, I know, you made it so they could stay but... I still don't like them. Especially that 'Jay' guy." Chad said, grabbing his books out of his locker.
"Seriously? Jay is just- spirited is all." Ben said as Chad started walking down the hall, having to take two strides for one of Chad's, as Chad was abnormally tall. The two had been best friends since they could talk, they rarely fought, though Ben had a feeling Chad was cross with him.
"Yeah, sure," Chad laughed alittle, "if spirited means a total asshole."
"I mean- you were like really mean to them, and besides, just because you don't like Jay doesn't mean all the rest of them are bad." Ben huffed frustratedly as Chad turned a corner and he scrambled to catch up.
"Oh you mean your little girlfriend Mal?" Chad asked, almost sounding upset.
"We broke up.. what she did was- not ok, and she acknowledged that, but I don't think I can trust her anymore." Ben sighed as they both entered their homeroom.
"You don't trust anyone."
"That's not true! I trust you!"
"Take your seats boys." Professor Maurice mumbled, and so Ben and Chad took their seats in the front of the classroom.
"Good morning Evie," Ben turned to the girl next to him, who was obviously ignoring him, scrolling on her phone, "How was your- oh." He sighed, discouraged. He was going to have a long day and he knew it.
