What Our Future Holds

Chapter 1

A typical day, I'm on classes it's online due to a virus that spreads around the world.

"Abby Trinidad" my prof called.

"present" i said as my name was called by my professor.

"Ok class, i hope you're all ready for our topic for today, don't worry this is homeroom so we'll just be fast" my prof uttered.

"Are you ready class?" Our prof asked with a smile.

"Yes ma'am" me and my classmates responded.

"We will be talking about something special for today, how to manage feelings" my prof started discussing.

"So, how do you guys manage your feelings or emotions? Example when you're mad" Prof asked.

"I close my eyes and take deep breaths po" cole answered. Cole is our president in the classroom while I'm the VP.

I don't really like being with people. In short I'm a cold person, why? Cuz i don't want people coming and going aroymy life, i also don't want to be attached with anyone. Since my grandfather died i never wanted to be attached with someone because when they leave the pain doesn't, go with them, the pain stays in your heart.

*FLASHBACK*

"TITO!! WHERE'S TATAY PO?" i excitedly asked because tatay was at the hospital and been there for days. He said well play when he goes back from there.

"Tatay is gone na, he's with the angels na" huh? Tatay don't break promises. He said he'll be back. Tatay is my only friend.

"You're joking tito ehh, tatay will play with me pa po" tears fell down from my uncles eyes as he kneeled Infront of me.

"Tatay is gone na iha he won't be coming back" tito hugged me tight as tears were falling from my eyes. I was devastated i felt my heart ache and i locked myself in my room for days refusing to eat anything.

"Apo kain na" nanay entered the room.

"I don't want to" i said.

"Apo i know you miss your tatay but people will come and go, tatay already did his purpose in this world so let's be happy nalang kasi tatay can rest na" nanay said.

I hugged her tight.

"Tatay didn't even grant his promise" i cried.

"Well, not all things that people say is true, not all promises they say will be granted apo" she explained.

"Then how i know who to trust?" I asked her, wiping my tears.

"You don't apo, now enough with the questions and eat, iwan ko toh dito kainin mo haa" nanay left the food at my bedside table.

I ate the food but i promised myself to never trust and get attached to people because I don't want to cry like this again.

No one will see me cry, i won't trust anyone like i did to tatay.

*END OF FLASHBACK*

"Vice-president are you ok?" My teacher called me.

"Yes ma'am my head just hurts a bit" i responded

"Ok let's end the class na kasi nag overtime na din tayo ng kaunti, goodbye everyone and good afternoon to all or you" ma'am said and ended the call.

I took a deep breath and stood up.

My phone vibrated.

I checked it.

A notification from my team's gc.

"Training at 1 pm school field" i read coach's message.

It's 12 o'clock rn.

I ran to the bathroom and took a bath.

I wrapped myself around with towel and picked my jersey that I'll be wearing.

I put my clothes on and dried my hair.

"12:30" seriously? Why the hell is time so fast.

"Dana daanan kita jan sainyo" i messeged her. Dana is my friend, I have friends but I don't really get attached to the that much it's like if they leave i don't care.

Her house is just 2 streets away from my apartment so i don't mind walking to go there.

I'm wearing my jersey and a varsity jacket.

I knocked on Dana's door and her father dropped us on school. We entered the school and ran to the field.

"12:50" We're just in time.

"Captain!" My teammates called me.

"Yeah?" I looked at them.

"Mag warm up na daw tayo sabi ni coach" i nodded in response.

I took my jacket off and did some warm up.

"5 jogging 1 sprint around the field, if i see someone lacking you're dead meat" i said.

We did the laps and coach called us for the training.

*Time skip*

the training is doneand it's 4 pm i have friends who are expecting me at 5.

I got home and showered then picked new clothes.

I went outside to see my Friends.

"Jaydee!" I called my friend.

We live on same streets.

"Gabb, can you call yza?" Gabb and yza siblings.

Jaydee has a girlfriend, Frances which is also our friend but she doesn't really go out much cuz of strict parents.

Frances, yza and gabb are cousins.
Yza and gabb are siblings.

Yza is also best friends with Frances.

I also have this little attraction towards yza and she doesn't mind it but she knows about it.

"Milk tea tayo guys?" Yza suggested.

"I'm in" i said.

"G" jaydee replied.

"Libre mo ko ate" gabb said while yza rolled her eyes and just nodded. Cute.

We walked to the milktea shop but while we were walking a group of men started following us while i overheard them Talking about yza.

I wrapped my arm on yza's waist and glanced at the people following us.

They eventually left and i just chuckled.

I looked at yza and she was looking at me.

I took my arm off her waist.

"Sorry" i said.

"Huh?" She gave me a questioning look.

She grabbed my hand and made me hold her waist.

I was stunned but i played it cool.

Our friends didn't notice but when we arrived at the shop yza took my hands away from her waist.

Seems like she doesn't want our Friends to see.

But anyway it's fine baka ma issue den kami.
