"See what did I tell you" he smiles and pats my shoulder "also I noticed you getting quite nervous walking over there everything alright"

"I think so but I'm not sure I get the feeling she knows more than she should but at the same time I feel like I need to be near her to keep her safe" my eyes widen "wait you don't think I just" I watch as Caleb smiles widely

"oh I do but you need to acknowledge it to be completely sure of it" he chuckles at the look of pure terror on my face, "told you its nerve wreaking"

"Help me, no wait nevermind we both need help ahhhh" I groan before sitting back down and finishing my food

Isla

I look up at Ivy as she walks over a blushing and giggling mess before looking over at Caleb and Chiaki then back at her "Let me guess he asked"

"Yep and I think I fell for him more"

I chuckle slightly "I think you two would make a great couple so go for it also don't tell me you still want me to go because I already know you do"

She huffs "good because you aren't getting away with it that easily"

I watch as she smiles and sighs looking at the time "what's wrong"

"Lunch is over and it's time to head to class where I can't partner with Chiaki so we can get to know more about each other"

"I'll talk with the teacher Ivy I kinda want to talk to Caleb too"

"You would and you do?" she looks at me confused "who are you and what have you done to my friend Iris?"

I laugh "I'm still me Ivy I'm just going to try and talk to him but for some reason, I'm nervous to do so"

"You'll be fine now let's go get your books and get to class" she pulls my arm

"Ok ok I'm coming geez" I smile and laugh as she keeps pulling me to my locker

"Hurry up and grab your books lets go let's go let's go," she says stopping in front of my locker

I laugh and shake my head before quickly getting my books and start walking to our chemistry class.

"So do I want to know what you are wanting to talk to Caleb about?" I hear Ivy ask while walking beside me

"Nope, because you should figure out what you're going to talk to Chiaki about other than the dance" I smile at her before we walk into the classroom and I head over to the teacher.

"Isla is something wrong?"

"Ah no, Ms. Moon, I was just wondering if I could partner with Caleb and Ivy could partner with Chiaki this week"

"I'm guessing this is because you want to ask him to the dance and Ivy was asked by Chiaki"

"Ah yeah I guess though I kinda just want to get to know him better if things work out for Ivy and Chiaki"

Ms. Moon smiles and nods "that's fine Isla" she looks at Chiaki and Caleb "Caleb today you're working with Isla Chiaki you will be working with miss Ivy this week"

Caleb

I look at Ms. Moon with a nod before looking at Chiaki trying not to panic

"You alright Caleb you seem a little pale?" Chiaki looks at me concerned

"I'm fine just a little shocked I think" I take deep breaths before looking at Isla with a slight smile

"You're gonna be fine just keep calm and get to know her and maybe ask her to the dance and before you go and attack me don't worry it's just a suggestion" he holds his hands up like I was going to attack him

I laugh slightly and pat his shoulder "I know it was and good luck with Ivy don't be nervous just be yourself I think she likes the real you anyways" I smile before letting him walk over to Ivy

I take another deep breath before walking over to Isla

"Hello Isla"

I watch as she lightly jumps before taking a breath "hello Caleb how has your day been so far"

I blink in surprise not expecting her to ask about my day before smiling softly "it's been good so far how about yours?" I tilt my head a little, curious to hear her reply

"It's been alright I guess just have a lot on my mind"

"I can understand that but how about we try to get to know each other to get your mind off of things?" I look at her with a small smile

"Sure but I have a lot of questions" she smiles also before looking at the lab "and it seems we can talk while doing the lab"

I look also and laugh a little "yeah I guess so"

She sits and motions to the chair next to her "so would you like to start first or should I?"

I sit in the chair next to her and think before looking at the lab instructions

"How about you start and I'll answer as many questions that I can"

"Ok but first this one doesn't count. Are you saying that you can answer as many as possible because you're not allowed to talk about what you are to non wolf shifters or because you don't know how to answer them?"

I quickly looked at her noticing how she had lowered her voice when saying non wolf shifters before tilting my head "are you saying that I'm a wolf shifter now?" I give a nervous chuckle still watching how she reacts

"Maybe, but that doesn't answer my question Caleb"

I sigh and glance at Chiaki and see him giving a thumbs up to me before looking back at Isla

"Yes I'm a wolf shifter and before you say you are also I already know I can sense the wolf in you" I watch as her face goes from shock to relief before glancing away

"Alright then, here's my first question. What is your favorite season?" She looks at the lab and starts working on the first part.

"Ah my favorite season well to be honest I'm a fall wolf but I prefer winter it's almost serene you know, yeah people say its melancholy and gloomy but I see the beauty in it and the rebirth it bring once it fades"

I look back at her realizing I started to look out the chemistry classroom window at the woods past it. When I did I notice the slight blush on her cheeks and tilt my head

"Isla are you alright?"

"Oh uh yeah I'm alright, just what you said about winter it's exactly how I feel about it and to be completely honest I'm a winter wolf but I like fall as well as winter"

I blush slightly hearing that and try to cover my face as I hear her giggle softly before noticing her eyes dart back down to the microscope in front of her
