"Mom I look like a fu-" Lauren started, but she caught herself. Her mom thought it was 'un-lady like' to swear. "-dging princess."
"It's for your wedding. You're supposed to." she said. Lauren rolled her eyes.
"How about you go and pick a dress you like, hmm?" she asked. Lauren quickly nodded and ran out to the front of the store.
She came back a few minutes later, with a bundle of blue fabric. She dragged Josh into the stall with her. Her mom tried to hear what they were saying, but it was hard due to the noise in the store.
"She's going to be pissed." she heard Josh chuckle.
"You think I care about what she says I can and cannot wear to MY OWN wedding? Especially if I don't even know if we're going to have it." Lauren whispered back.
A few minutes later she came out to do a little show and tell for her mom. She was wearing most of the clothes she had come to the store in.
She was wearing a turquoise dress, with no design, and thick straps, with the black leggings and black UGG's she was wearing to the store. She also had her favorite charm bracelet on, with her old snowboarding jacket which amazingly went with the outfit pretty well.
"Lauren Valerie Anne Webb you have to wear something pretty and lady like to your wedding." she said.
"Where does it say that?" Lauren asked. Her mom groaned and turned to grab something from her purse.
"You're acting like a child Lauren. You have to act like the lady I know you are, deep, DEEP down inside." she said.
She turned back around, and Lauren was sitting next to Josh, drinking from a water bottle. Josh was trying not to laugh.
She burped. "When have I ever been a lady?" she asked.
"Lauren so help me now, I swear to god -" her mom started, trying to find the words.
Lauren's phone rang, and she dove at the chance to talk to anyone except her mother. Her mom left to try and find more dresses.
Lauren put the phone on speaker the moment she left the room.
"You guys dead yet?" Nicole's cheerful and perky tone asked.
"I just got to see two dresses, one Lauren picked, and one her mom picked, and her mom threatening her, so I've been better." Josh shrugged.
"She's terrible Nicole! She doesn't know what I like at all! Every dress she picks either makes me look like a prick or a slut!" Lauren whined.
She laughed. "Josh, you guys got practice I set up for you guys for your new music video in an hour, and Lauren, I'll be at your house in forty to take you shopping with me, so make up an excuse and get the hell outta there." Nicole said.
"YOU ARE THE BEST!" they both cheered.
"I swear I have a girl crush on you." Lauren laughed. Nicole laughed too.
"Ditto." she said.
"Okay, mom's coming back so be quiet until I tell you it's all clear for then you'll know if I got out of it." Lauren instructed.
"Kay." Nicole said.
Lauren set her phone down like she wasn't using it, and with her teeth she peeled the biggest scab off her lip. It almost immediately started bleeding.
"Fuck that hurt..." Lauren muttered under her breath. Josh smiled and squeezed her hand.
Lauren made her eyes water. "Lauren I found another store you might like -" her mom started, but she paused when she saw Lauren's big watery eyes.
