HIDDEN TRUTH
───🏹───
i~Prologe

EVER SINCE I WAS LITTLE I was told that I was the Queen in my chess board by my mother, the most powerful and wanted piece, but that all changed on the dreadful morning of October 1st.

My mother had disappeared with no left trace behind, we called the officers but they had no clue where she went, my father decided to hire a very well known detective, Sherlock Holmes. He too, found nothing. We then decided to hang missing person posters around London, but we never got any feedback so we took them down.

That was all 2 months ago.

I still miss my mother of course, but there is nothing I can do. I have to accept the fact that she might be dead.

My father was the most broken from us all, he started drinking not to heavily but it was still a surprise to me and my brother because he never went near liquor or wine.

After a week he noticed how it might negatively affect us so he went out on day and didn't come back until the next morning with a tall thin blond haired woman.

Apparently she was my mothers best friend when they were in school.

When she came inside the house with arms linked with my father, I then realized what was going on. He and replaced her.

I thought Ruby was nice when I first saw her walk with my father but I was extremely wrong.

Once my father was gone she looked at us in disgust and said nasty things in front me and my brothers face.

That was 1 and a half months ago.

Ruby and my father then got married in November, at this point Ruby has been abusing me and my brother mentally and physically.

There was nothing we could do, she told us if we dared to tell our father she would give us the worst punishment ever, we should've listened.

Me and Gale decided to tell father one day but he didn't believe us, he said Ruby would never do such a thing as he had known her for a very long time and it must have been a bad dream.

Later that day when father was at work Ruby had taken a broom from the closet and hit us with it while the maids were downstairs cooking dinner.

When it hit my brother's head the broom had cracked in half and at this point we were both bruised, when our father asked us what had happened  we knew better at this point and told him we fell down the stairs.

That was a month ago.

At this point it was pretty obvious that Ruby didn't love our father, she loved his money. My father hadn't noticed because he was so blinded in the idea of having another woman to love, which took his pain away.

My father had decided that we would move to this town in Canada. It was called Avonlea.

As you see my father is a very successful business man, he was told us that there were many more opportunities to raise his network in a town near Avonlea called Charlotte Town.

Instead of moving to Charlotte Town he decided that he would move us to Avonlea because that was were my other brother Regulus lived.

Regulus is 17 years old but very mature for his age, when he asked father after mom's death if he could move to this small town by himself because he had noticed all art opportunities Canada had to offer, he accepted and sent him off to live in Avonlea.

That was half a month ago.

Right now Father, Ruby, Gale and I are in a carriage on the way to our new house.

Father had bought Regulus his own house to live in since he was now technically an adult. Regulus has already finished school unlike me and Gale who are both 15 and still have two years left.

Regulus decided to pursue the art career and is now selling paintings as a living.

"Are you guys excited?" My father asked as he took a his lighter out of his pocket and lit his cigarette. "Not really, I mean I am happy that we are going to get to see Regulus more often, but I am quite sad at the fact that we are leaving a big city in England for a small town in Canada." I responded back looking out the window admiring the sunflower field.

"Y/n! How dare you say that! I feel like this is a good opportunity for a fresh start!" Ruby glared at me as I looked down and she then  looked at my father with a fake smile as she said the 'fresh start' part.

The carriage wheels were hitting the small rock pebbles as the concrete road started to become a dust and dirt road.

The carriage then went through a beautiful forest with trees 10 times my height. As the trees were clearing I caught the sight of a Dark academia style mansion.
