The Job Hunt

"C'mon y/n! One more!"

"I can do this." I whisper to myself as I push

"And that's 15!" Koen smiles as I put the barbell down

"God I hate you." I smile at him as I grab the bottle from his hand

"That's not true and you know it." He smiles smugly

"Mhm." I laugh as I grab the towel from my locker and head towards the showers

"So" Koen says as we walk towards the exit "How's the job hunt going?"

"Well about as well as you think." I sigh "After the whole fight pretty much no garage wants me."

"For what it's worth they never deserved you." He smiles "Plus seeing you punch that asshole was funny."

"Yeah well he deserved it." I smile as I get to the car

"I'll see you tomorrow?" He asks

"You know it." I smile as I climb in the car

"Hey." He knocks on the window

"Yes K?" I say as I roll down my window

"You'll find a place to work." He smiles

"Thanks K." I smile

After an hours drive home I lock my car and head up to my apartment

"Max! I'm home!" I say as I dump my keys in the bowl

"Hey." He smiles as he hugs me "How was the gym?"

"Painful." I laugh "But worth it."

"Oh Lando's coming for dinner."

"Okay that's fine I hope he likes fajitas." I smile as I walk over to out little kitchen "I take it you guys are filming?"

"Yeah." He says as he joins me "Any luck with the job?"

"Still no." I sigh "Thank you again for letting me stay here until I can afford a place."

"Always." He smiles "Besides when it's your turn to cook the food is good." He laughs

"That's the only reason you're friends with me isn't it?"

"You caught me." He says as he puts his hands up before we both burst into laughter

"What are you guys filming?" I ask as I take out my strawberries from the fridge

"We're doing one of those lie detector tests. You should join us!"

"Okay." I nod "Sounds like a laugh." I smile

"We're gonna start filming at 3."

"Alright well I'm gonna go eat my strawberries and watch tangled." I say as I head into my room

"-Mother knows best!" My laptop plays out as my phone rings

"Hello?" I answer as I pause the film

"Hi is this y/n?"

"Speaking."

"Hi y/n I was wondering if you were still interested in the job at Alfa Romeo?"

"I thought they filled that position?"

"They did. With your background Alfa Romeo were hoping you'd join them as a pit crew member."

"Of course but I just worked at garages I'm not sure I'd be too good at that."

"You'll receive training don't worry and you'll be shadowed by people until they establish your skill level and if you'll be a valued member."

"So it's like a trial period?"
