I wake up in an unfamiliar bed, completely naked, and confused. I see a very handsome man lying next to me, and the previous night's events enter my brain. I went out from my apartment in New York City to do what any 24 year old would do on a Friday night. Party. I arrived at the club half past 9, ready to party after a long week of classes. I sat down at the bar and ordered a drink to try to forget about my 5000 word paper on medical ethics due the week after next, that I have barely worked on. Indulged in my own thoughts I had not yet realised a handsome man had taken the seat next to mine. I couldn’t help but stare because he was absolutely gorgeous. He had to be about 6’4”, he had black curly hair, green eyes, and cute round glasses sitting at the tip of his nose. I guess he knew I was staring because he looked up from his drink and said hello. My 5’7” self was obviously not prepared for this interaction. I wished I had dressed better coming out that night. I am not an ugly person, I have dark, curly brown hair, light blue eyes, and fair skin, but in his presence I might as well be compared to an ogre. I was wearing blue jeans my mom got me for Christmas a few years ago, a hoodie with my favourite character from Death Note on it, L Lawliet, and some worn down sneakers, while he was wearing a fitted grey turtleneck sweater, a stylish black trench coat, black dress pants, and nice dress shoes. As all of these thoughts were crossing my mind, I realised that I had forgotten to say hello back to the handsome man.
“Hello,” I stutter. I knew I was acting like a complete idiot.
“Do you like Death Note?” he asked in a mysterious, sexy voice.
“Yes, my favourite character is L,” I say a bit more confidently this time, but still I was dumbfounded as to why this beautiful man was talking to me.
“You want to know something?” he asked.
“Sure,” I said, trying to hide my eagerness behind a wall of insincerity.
“I think guys who watch Death Note are really attractive, “he said.
At this point I was as red as a tomato. He thought I was attractive…me? The same guy who took his cousin to junior prom.
My thought process was interrupted when he said, “ Why don’t we get out of here? My apartment is not too far from here.”
I didn’t know what to say, but I knew I couldn’t pass on the opportunity to get with a hot guy like him.
“Sure,” I said nervously as he led me off of my barstool and out into the cool, night streets of New York.
Things kind of escalated quickly once we entered his apartment. Well, more like a penthouse. It was huge, but I didn't really get a house tour because right when we walked in, he shut the door and slammed me to the wall, kissing me fiercely. He led me into his room, which was on the second floor of his “apartment”, where he started removing my clothes. He threw me onto his clean white bed sheets and started to kiss me deeply. I leaned into the kiss, embracing the warmth of his body. Everything after that was a blur.
