You knew you never had the best life, your relationship with your parents wasn't the most outstanding or great by any means, but you taught yourself to only remember the happy moments instead of brooding with the darker ones. Always think on the positive to get the most out of life, something your second family, the Avengers, loved you for. You always helped them cherish the good memories of this job, so much so that Tony Stark claimed 'positivity is your brand', while he gave you a custom made top and travel mug with the words 'Positivity is my brand' written on them for your 17th birthday. The shirt was a plain black top while the writing was in a rather nice gradiented rainbow, since rainbows were both bright and colourful, 'like your personality' as one of your many father figures, Clint Barton, always lovingly declared. The gifts you got were about Pride and the LGBTQIA+ community, since you were bisexual and the team knew you had a crush on Wanda since you met her. The travel mug was white yet decorated with rather artistic hearts in all different styles and sizes that all had the colours of the bisexual flag on. Since you were born on the 1st of June, they thought of giving you gifts that can both be personal to you, while decking you out in some actually decent pride merch so you don't have to worry about all of the companies who exploit the community for cash grabs.

Your life at home was by far nothing to celebrate, but you loved what you had. Your mum was Spanish, while your father had been American, making you Hispanic. When your mother had been around 20 years old, she had moved over to America for job opportunities where she could do what she loved. Science. You were never really told how they met eachother, so you were left to find all the pieces of the puzzle.

Your mother's and father's work had always been kept a secret from you since you were born. From 8 am to 7pm, you stayed at home with one of your many babysitters, due to your parent's extremely busy work life, you were an only child so no one had to worry about you getting into much trouble since you were always an obedient and respectful child. If your parents or babysitter told you not to do something, you would never even consider it, it was never in your nature to after all.

Your mother was a geneticist for 11 years, while your father had been a chemist for 19 years of his life, before they both had been hired by a company to be an experimentalist, someone who conducts scientific experiments, both of them being a type of scientist meant you had a lot to live up to.

Throughout your childhood, your parents rather successfully hid their work from your curious, yet prying eyes, not willing to let the secret out just yet. The most you've been able to find out was that they worked for a German company, they have been around since WW2 and that they've been trying for 33 years to create something revolutionary. It took you around 7 years to find out those three things about your parents work, they really made finding out their secrets a real challenge for your developing mind, however they found it rather amusing each time you unsuccessfully tried to gather anything more than the things you already knew so they never scolded you for it.

In fact, they praised your curious nature, saying how there was always a next time to try after each time you failed to learn anything knew, which always made you more determined as the years went by like fated clockwork. You treasured countless of those specific memories because it taught you to be the positive sunshine that everyone knows you to be, to never give in even if you fail...

Your 13th birthday had been the day when every little secret had been revealed to you...

They told you that they were working on a small side project and that they needed your assistance with something. They were working on making everyday people into 'superheroes', their strength could go toe to toe with others as impressive as the Avengers. You can vividly remember the exact words they said to you that day.
