"So you slept with our neighbor!?"

"It was a minor transaction!"
My so-called parents are at it again like wild animals, just waiting for the moment to tear each other to pieces while I sit in the middle with the dumbest look on my face, with headphones in of course. "Transaction my ass!!" She yelled as she threw yet another piece of loose furniture in his direction, my dad dodging it swiftly as he glared at her in rage. This is where I move from my position and find somewhere else to live a normal life, because now they're getting physical. My mother is the first to land a punch to his face. I'm glad my dad decided to grip her arms instead of hit her back this time..maybe it's because I'm in the room?

"I've already told you bitch I didn't sleep with her!"

"Then why get so mad when I mention it, or go to her house almost everyday!"
Nope, I was wrong. They sound like this when Im upstairs

"Your daughter needs you in her life!" Oh yeah, just use me as an excuse by all means

"Bullshit! She barely pays attention to us!" This is where they both pause as if automatic and turn to me. I only sigh as i get up from my safe spot

"What's the point in paying attention when all you guys do most of the time is argue? Not to mention when I am alone with either one of you, you never listen..." My naturally soft voice couldn't take being this loud already, but I've dealt with worse. My dad let go off my mom and marched up to me, getting in my face as he sneered with his ugly face

"Why even bother talking to you? You don't talk at all. Only when it's convenient for you."

"Is that so? Then please dad, tell me how to fuck does this sway in my favor?" My once blank brown eyes were like a mirror holding his anger. I'm pretty sure he saw it too, since he went to raise his hand to hit me

"What the hell are you doing?!" My mom stumbled on her feet as she grabbed his wrist and yanked him in her direction. "Don't touch my fucking daughter!" It was right now she decided to be an actual mother for once and care for her child, but instead of jumping away like normal I snuggled my way into her to piss him off. It did, stomping off like an angry toddler, not missing a cue as he snatched a box of beer on his way upstairs. After he left my mom pushed me off of her like I was trash that had to be thrown to the side. "Go do something." Is all she mumbled before turning on the TV, acting like our living room isn't a mess. I turned my music all the way up like I should have done while picking up the broken parts of our house and going out the door. The only reason why I have happiness in life is I get to walk out without anybody telling me what to do. It's not like anyones going to notice a 17 year-old-girl missing anyway. I kept walking until hitting a red light and bumping into a limping man who fell down on impact. A compelling force took over to help this man as I knelt down with barely a whisper.

"Are you alright sir?"
