chapter one/a sleep over

"This is my story of how it all happened"
My name is Gabriel and when this happened I was about 9 years old I have blond hair and bright blue eyes I'm slender but fairly built. It was my birthday and I had just turned 9 I woke up that morning for school because I had a busy day that day with having a birthday party at school so I woke up right away and got dressed got my school bag and rushed to the door. My mother would take me to school because she was scared to let me ride the buss plus it was quicker so I wasn't bothered with it so we got in the car and started driving "you ready for today your going to have all kinds of fun at school today and I have a surprise for you after school" I looked back at my mom with an excited look "really mom what is it what did you get me" I was way to excited to contain myself "you'll see what it is after school trust me you'll love it" as we got up to the school. I had an uneasy feeling in my gut I didn't think much of it I was more excited that worried so I opened the door to walk into school "I love you mom see you after school" she wished me a good day and rushed off back home before work she worked a night shift at an retirement center were she worked with the elderly so when I get home I'll only have 30 minutes with her as I was walking up to school 2 of my friends came out of the school to great me a happy birthday. Sam and Mark I've known them since elementary school Sam was about average height for his age he was 10 he was slender with thick black hair and his eyes were as green as an Emerald he's always been a good person to me and Mark he always dyes his hair he had it a dark blue this year it was longer hair like a mullet he was 9 years old same as me he was heavyweight I'd say 140 at least for his age he was 5ft tall I was 4ft9in and Sam was 4ft4in so Mark was the tallest one but Mark has a temper he's sweet and nice but not one to be messed with he was a fighter with golden brown eyes me and Sam were lovers never to hurt a fly. We started walking into the school cafeteria I didn't like the food but I was hungry it was an egg sandwich with a milk but the egg was microwaved so it was soggy I sat down with Mark and Sam "so what you doing after school for your birthday bro" Mark insisted I'm not so sure yet my mum said she has something for me when I get home God only knows what that is I'm excited though" even thinking about it makes me curious on what she had planned "well me and Mark were talking how about we come to your house for the night to celebrate your birthday plus we can bring Deven he's got something for you" Deven he was an older kid he was about 11 at the time he was nice but he was also a dick he picks on us for fun but he always says he's messing around he's ok to hang around he has a sweet side to him he was stocky and built he had black hair and black eyes he's almost like the gard dog of our little family if we were in trouble or getting beat up Deven would always be there to help us "I haven't even asked my mom she works a night shift she won't be home until 11 tomorrow plus she goes in at 8 tonight it wouldn't work" and I didn't want to upset my mom she's scary sometimes "well what we were thinking is that we come over while she at work no one would know come on it would be fun" Mark kept going on he insisted on it so did Sam finally I gave in "ok ok you guys can come for the night but we can't do anything extreme my mum would kill me" trust us gabe we just want to be a good friend to you on your birthday" Sam made me calmer like an at home feeling "thank you guys that means a lot but how would you come at night when my mum goes away" "we had already talked to our parents we've had this planed we just tell our parents 8 and they'll drop us off" Mark strongly talked about this "I even have something for us to do when we're there" Mark came up to my ear so Sam didn't hear "I have a Ouija bord an old one to" I was getting an uneasy feeling in my gut again but I didn't want to say no so I said ok and wished them a good day because we don't have classes together so we only talk at breakfast lunch and outside of school it's just us in our little friend group we're more like family so I wondered off to my classes to proceed with my day it was only after school that I got that uneasy feeling again like a punch to the gut almost like I was going to throw up my mother was waiting for me in her car "how was your day honey" she smiled at me with a glistening look in her eyes I smiled back "it was good mom just glad to be done with it" i still was uneasy but I fought it off and played it cool "well I made up some of your favorite food and I have a gift for you when we get home" mother always knows best especially when it comes to my favorite food I yelled "meatballs!!" She laughed "yes your favorite" she smiled and we proceeded to the house when we got to the house I jumped out of the car and rushed to the door instantly the aroma of freshly cooked food hit my nose mother came in and we started eating
