0.3: Please Stay

"Lyric sweetie oh my God!" Her mom ran over to her but Lyric just looked at me with a frown. I sighed and told her who she was.

"Oh." Was her response.

"Lyric?" The boy, Michael, said from the doorway. He ran over to her and threw his arms around her, tightly hugging her like he's going to lose her again. "It's me Michael. I'm your older brother."

"Your hair is cool. And so are you tattoos." She picked up his arm to examine the tattoos.

"Thanks," He smiled and lowered his voice. "I'm surprised she even let me get them knowing her." He nodded his head towards their mom and laughed a little. She laughed back.

"Why don't we go home sweetie?" Her mom said. All of looked at her and I was horrified. There was no way in hell that Lyric was going with this fruit bat of a woman.

"No!" I slightly yelled.

"Yes! She is my daughter and I'm taking her back!" Her mom yelled back. I clenched my jaw and looked at Andy who had the same expression on his face.

"That's not gonna happen lady." Jake said stepping up to her. "Now get out before we make you. All of us."

"What if I want to go with her." Lyric said. I froze in place. Had I really just heard her say that? I said to myself. "I mean she is my mom anyways so..." She trailed off.

"See she wants to be back in my custody." Her mom spat at me, venom dripping from her words.

"You left her when she was a little kid. Three. Years. Old. She had to grow up with a father that did unthinkable things to her and then he killed himself. She had to go to an orphanage and she got bullied half to death. I took her away from that place. Me. Not you." I felt my blood boiling with rage and Jinxx laid his hand on my shoulder in a way of saying 'Calm down.'

"Well now I'm back in her life and since I am her biological mother, I get to have her back."

"That's not how it works idiot! She is legally mine." I yelled louder.

"STOP FIGHTING!" Lyrics screamed over us. "I want to go with my mother and that's it. You can't change my mind."

That hit me hard. To know that I saved her from that place and then have her say she wants to go with someone who abandoned her. I know, I know, she has amnesia and everything but still...This lady left her with her psycho of a father.

I must've zoned out because Lyric began to walk out with her brother and mom.

"Wait!" I called out and ran over to her. I tackled her into a hug and refused to let go. "Please stay." I said into her ear.

"Please...You're only making this worse for yourself. Goodbye CC." That made me want to vomit. She called me by my name instead of dad. She managed to get herself free from my grip, giving me a sad look, then continued to leave.

I've lost the most valuable thing that was in my life.
