The ring suddenly felt ice cold in my pocket. I looked at Matt, and he gave me a thumbs up. Lauren and I went outside, and a crowd of fans cheered.
"THEY LIVED!" Mike cheered.
Now or never, I thought. I hid my mouth from the fans, and put my mouth to her ear.
"I have a surprise for you." I whispered.
She looked at me, confused. I let go of her hand, and slipped the ring out of my pocket. I got down on one knee, and all that.
"Lauren," I started, and a few people in the crowd gasped. Lauren had her mouth covered with her hands. "I meant to ask you this about two and a half weeks ago, but... Will you marry me?"
The crowd cheered, and my heart pounded in my ears. "Yes." she croaked out.
The crowd went completely nuts, Mike clapped, so did Ian, Matt smiled and clapped too. I sprung up, and put the ring around her finger.
I put my arm around her waist, and kissed her.
"I love you." she said quietly. I smiled.
"I love you too." I said.
When we got in the car, All Time Low was on the radio. I knew Lauren loved them, also because she went to school with Alex and Jack.
"Long live the reckless and the brave, I don't think I wanna be saved, my song has not been sung..."
Lauren looked at me and smiled. She twisted at the ring she had on her finger, and smiled again.
. . .
Lauren's P.O.V.
It was actually a lot of fun reading down through Twitter. My favorite tweet so far was...
While most guys propose on Valentine's Day, or something, @JoshRamsay proposes right after they get out of hospital from a car crash.
I showed Josh one, and he laughed.
. . .
Contrary to popular belief, I'm actually a very light sleeper when I actually fall asleep. Sure, I snore like a chainsaw and I sprawl myself over every imaginable space when I'm asleep, but even minute change in the room I'm asleep in can have me bolting upright.
The loss of body heat when my fiance (I guess I can call her that now) left the bed was what woke me up tonight.
It was cute how she still thought that she could sneak out of bed without me noticing, even after a few years of proving her wrong. I was actually shockingly adept at moving quietly when I needed to.
Using all my awesome skills, I crept to the doorway into the living room, knowing almost instinctively where she'd be.
"Hey Laurey."
She sniffed from her curled up position on the couch. "Hi Josh." she said quietly.
"What's up?" I asked, plopping down next to her, wrapping my arms around her.
"I... never mind..." she said.
"Aww, come on. You can tell me. I'm your fiance now." I laughed, sticking my lip out.
She laughed. "You see! That's the thing. I'm - I'm scared." she said. I raised an eyebrow.
"About what?" I asked.
"I have thing weird thing that when I'm dating some one, I'm so nervous we'll date for so long, then we'll get married thinking we'll spend the rest of our lives together but then we start to treat each other differently and then we'll fuck something up and - and I'm terrified." she said.
I brought her closer to me. "Lauren, today I died, and came back. I still love you as much as I have since we started dating." I said.
"I know. I love you too, Jesus, I love you. But I'm just so scared we'll screw something up and ruin everything." she said.
"And if we do we have Matt and Mike and Ian and Brett and Kevvy to help us out of it. And Lauren, we don't have to get married now." I said.
"What?" she asked, looking up at me with her silver eyes.
"It's not like we're getting married tomorrow. We don't have to get married now. I'm game to wait as long as you want." I said.
She gave a small smile and tucked herself back into my chest. Her "thanks" was muffed by my chest, but I still pressed a kiss to her forehead.
I watched her fall back asleep in my arms, and as she finally drifted out of consciousness, I held her even closer and promised I'd never leave her.
I brought her back in my room, and placed her under the covers. She yawned but stayed asleep, and I smiled and crawled tiredly back under the covers.
Soo..... He's alive and they're engaged! Who saw that coming? Come'on, I need to see hands *she says with a creepy smile* Nobody, cuz I DIDDDDDDD!!!
Sorry, I was really excited because it was funny to read all the comments on the last chapter, and I already knew he wasn't actually going to die. I actually had written this chapter before the first part, if that makes any sense. But I was really happy to see nobody else figured out my evil little plan. Anyway, night!
