"It's been good! Although, I'm seeing more guys from our school there," Swan groaned.
"That sucks," you were staring back at your phone absentmindedly, not even acknowledging the food still on your plate.
"Who are you waiting for a text from?" Swan poked, leaning her elbows on the table as if she was going to be getting interesting gossip. You tore your gaze away from your phone and back to your friends.
"Oh, just Sungchan," you didn't find any real reason to lie- you just needed Jaemin's number for your project, and he was going to get you the means of contacting him.
"Your ex Sungchan?" Ireh jumped quickly, her face full of shock. You rolled your eyes, holding back an annoyed laugh.
"Oh my god it was one date!" you cried, leaning back on your chair. Then, there was a notification sound from your phone which prompted Ireh to grab it faster than you could. "Give it back!" you tried to keep a straight face, but you couldn't help but let out a chuckle at the absurdity of it all. You reached forward to try and grab it, but Ireh childishly stood on the chair and out of your reach.
"Oh my god- why is your ex giving you that journalist's number?" Ireh couldn't see the rest of the conversation without your password, but she was going to make do with the one message she could see on your lock screen.
"Wait- the journalist?" Swan was fully on the edge of her seat now, visibly pleased by the unfolding scene in front of her.
"He's my partner for a class project!" you defended, standing up now on your own chair to try and get your phone back.
"I know her password!" Swan leapt up, snatching the phone from Ireh and running off to unlock the phone.
"Oh my god, text him!" Ireh climbed off her seat now and you tried chasing Swan only to miss her by a few moments as she locked herself in the bathroom.
"Swan! I'm going to kill you!"
"Ireh do we want to like him because she does or do we still hate him?" Swan called through the door as you listened to the sounds of her typing away on your phone.
"I don't like him! He's just a partner for a project!" you were knocking loudly on the door now, fighting the handle.
"Y/N, is he hot?" Ireh asked suddenly, and you felt your cheeks immediately heat up as you paused in shock.
"Why would you ask me that?" you went back to jiggling the door handle.
"That's a yes," Ireh and Swan agreed in unison, earning a very loud groan from you.
"You guys please," you pressed your forehead now against the bathroom door. A couple of moments passed, and the bathroom door finally opened with Swan emerging with your phone stretched towards you. You quickly opened your messages app to assess any damage and wanted to yell.
"That's it, I am moving out into the streets! I hate you both!" You cried, running into your bedroom and shutting the door loudly behind you. Panicking, you called Jaemin, hoping that your frantic phone call with an explanation would clear up the fact that it was not you who sent him that random horrible selfie you took two weeks back that for some reason you had on your phone still.
"Y/n?"
"Oh my god that was not me I swear it was my roommates," you spoke quickly, feeling incredibly embarrassed.
"Oh, you mean that cu- I mean, that normal picture of you? It's no big deal," he sounded oddly relaxed when he spoke. You took in a deep breathe, feeling rather stupid for freaking out so badly.
