Lady Lilias Rose Craven decides to move to California from England, and they settle in Los Angeles, Cailfornia.

Lady Lilias Rose embraces a new life as a modern English woman living in the United States, but she loves it as her husband owns a horse ranch outside of Los Angeles, California.

When Lord Matthew Colin Craven sees the picture of his sister, Lady Lilias Rose with her husband, David Frederick Carter, he has to admit that his sister is happy with her husband, and he embraces his new brother-in-law with open arms.

Afterall, Richard David Carter, is his nephew and the first cousin of his two sons, but Richard David Carter is not raised as his two first cousins in the rigid Edwardian home.

Lady Lilias Rose and her husband, David's son, Richard David was a real charmer as he grew, and he resembled both of his parent's and got the best of them.  He would be Lady Lilias Rose only child and she adored him.

Both Lady Lilias Rose and David Frederick loved their son, and they wanted him to live a normal and embrace life.  They didn't make their son attend church if he didn't want, but he did when he did, he decided on Southern Methodist Church.

Richard David Carter attended an ordinary elementary school, he excelled in sports, he loved horses, he loved country music and country dancing and when he graduated, he attended Texas A&M University and studied agriculture.

Lord Matthew Colin's sons attended Oxford University and studied government and politics and they led very rigid lives and were always chaperoned by their parents.

There was no doubt that Lord Matthew Colin and his wife, Lady Louisa didn't have two very handsome sons, but their lives were drastically different than their first cousins.  

Their lives were very formal, rigid, and based on the British aristocracy they were born into. When it came time for them to find their brides. Lord Matthew would take them to the coming out affair for all the young ladies who would be presented to Queen Elizabeth II in Kensington Palace.

The fathers and mothers of these young women who were being presented to Queen Elizabeth II would be placed on the marriage market by their fathers as the tradition and the eldest daughter was always married off like the eldest son first.

Lord Matthew Colin wanted to make sure that his eldest son, Lord David Collin Craven at the age of 18 in 1977 is betrothed to Lady Katherine Beaufort, who is 16 years old and in they will marry in 1979.

Lady Katherine Beaufort is the perfect match for Lord David Colin Craven as she comes from a very good aristocratic family and a good dowry, but the marriage produces only one daughter, Lady Mary Rose Craven in 1981 and Misselthwaite Manor will only pass onto a male child

In 1973, Lord Matthew Colin Craven finds his second son, Lord Albert Frederick Craven a bride in Lady Charlotte Louisa Stuart and they marry in 1975 and she is the perfect wife for Lord Albert Frederick Craven, and it is Lord Albert Frederick Craven that succeeds his father to as Lord of Misselthwaite Manor in 1990 as in 1980, Lady Charlotte gives birth to a son, Lord Frederick Colin Craven.
