|Chapter 46| Inversed

Soon we were in the forest and looked around the area. It was beautiful to see life in the Middle world. The animals especially stood out to me. There aren't any animals in the Spirit World. While we were looking I saw a bunny in a bush nibbling some grass. I knelt and tried to pet the small bunny. I looked up at myself scared, but only for a few seconds. It soon went back to eating and I petted the soft fur on its back. I smiled happily to see an animal again and be able to pet it. I smiled and looked up to see if anyone was watching me pet this adorable bunny. Instead, I saw someone looking down at me.

I froze and looked at Steve standing above me. Reverse Steve. He didn't move at all but had his gaze locked on me. I Didn't move. He didn't move. He looked exactly like me and the opposite. I spoke.

"Why are you here?" Was the only thing I could get out of my mouth.

"I wanted to see if it was true that you are here. You are?" He spoke to me quietly. I blinked and he was gone. No lighting or sound. He was gone like a ghost. It was as if I could feel my color being drained again just from the sight of him alone. I stumbled to my feet and the bunny ran away. He can't be here... He's dead. He's dead. He's dead. He's dead. He's dead. He's dead.

So am I.

"Rainbow! What are you doing?!" I heard Galaxy say from behind me. I turned to look at him. "Did you lose some color on your face? You look a bit pastel." I put a hand on my face and took a deep breath.

"I just thought I saw something... Did you find Sabre?"

"No. He might not be in the forest."

"I guess we keep looking then?"

"Yeah! I'm sure they are just making out somewhere- Wait do you know." I laughed.

"Of course I do." Galaxy laughs with me. It helped me relax my nerves as we went back to looking for the two love birds.

Me and Time were back and the sun was setting. I sighed with exhaustion. I'm still wearing this chicken suit outfit and I'm ready to collapse. It's been a long day.

"I didn't know we were gone for so long. Did we wake up late?"

"Probably. The tea party did last for a few hours."

"A few very long hours... I still can't believe that happened."

"I never thought I would get to talk so casually with my uncle." Time says looking out to the village we weren't too far from.

"I never thought I would eat some cookies with Origin Steve." We both laughed and I sighed with exhaustion.

"You still need to explain this whole assassin thing to me." He starts to walk toward the town. I followed him close behind.

"I will, just a little tired right now," I admitted.

"Once we tell everyone what happened and why we were gone all day you can head to bed. Also, you should change out of that."

"Trust me I will." We soon made our way to the front of the town to find Alex waiting for us. I guess she noticed we teleported here.

"Hi, Alex-"

"Where were you? Everyone has been looking for you all day!" Alex yelled angrily. Her eyes glowed slightly with her anger. Time explains this fever dream situation for me.

"Tea Party with all the villains Sabre has ever met." He said simply. I facepalmed myself knowing that's not going to be enough of an explanation. Alex gave us a blank look.

"Tea Party? Villains?" She questioned us. I took a few minutes to explain the entire situation to her. Her face turned to bank, shock, and then confusion.

"And I thought we were having a crazy day."

"What happened here?" I asked. Alex looks at both of us. She looked back towards the Overseer's house and then at us again.

"No one attacked you did they?" Time asked. Alex didn't respond as she tried to think of something. Her eyes seem to light up with an idea.

"You first Time!" She grabs Time's wrist and drags him away. I was about to follow when Alex gave me her death glare. I stayed put after her one look. I sat down and waited silently. I put a hand on my face again and carefully traced my eyelid. It's not getting worse. It's not getting better. I might have to hide away for a few days while I try to restore my code. I don't know if that's possible to do on my own.

Another problem to worry about.

I sat in silence for a few more minutes. I waited patiently for Alex to come and get me. I had nothing better to do than sit. I wonder what may be taking so long. It could be from anything... Yet why leave me out of it? Is Time in trouble?

"Sabre!" I looked toward the person calling my name to see Alex again. She didn't have time with her.

"Where is Time?"

"Just follow me. This is probably going to be a shock for you." Alex walks away and I follow her through the town. It was slowly getting less crowded as the evening came closer tonight. Soon we were in front of the Overseer's house which was crowded with people. I was surprised, was something going on? Is there a new Steve here? It would make sense since they probably have never met a non-steve before.

"Sabre just don't-" My eyes suddenly laid on the new Steve in town. This wasn't an old Steve though. I recognized the orange and red hair. The yellow-green shirt with blue and purple overalls. I immediately felt weak. His eyes looked to mine as I lost some color on my face. His Amber eyes looked into my blindfold.

"Sabre!" Rainbow called out to me voice I never thought I would hear again. I lost the feeling in my legs and quickly fell to my knees before breaking into tears. Rainbow ran up to me but I was already gone in a wave of pain and memory.

Void stood right in front of me. I could feel the weakened powers of the Galaxy sword in my veins and left eye. I was looking up as the pain of memory and reality sank into me. I didn't know which pain was from my code or which one was from the pain of the fight I and Galaxy just had. Whatever it was. I couldn't stand it as I saw Rainbow run. He stood in front of Void just as the lighting came down.

I was hugged tightly. I tried not to gasp for air as I was brought back into reality. I was still on my knees and felt Rainbow hug me tightly. I slowly raised my arms and hugged my small friend. I sobbed quietly. Rainbow kept hugging me.

"Sabre, are you okay?" Rainbow asked me concerned.

"Just a little overwhelmed... Don't worry Rain." I smiled a bit and looked at him. Rainbow smiles back.
