I live in a world
Of Autumn colors.
Warm cinnamon
And cloudy days,
Pumpkin pie candles
And itchy sweaters.
Showers of leaves saying goodbye
In a swirl of a hazel evening.
A crisp breeze kisses my nose
And sends shivers across my skin.
The cold, shallow wind
Hugs my cold shoulders
In a blur of comfort
As soft as snow.
I look up toward the horizon
I never knew was there,
And painted across the sky is
A soft glow of blue.
In that moment
A tangle of colors
Of golden caramel apples
And snowflake crystals
Smile and say hello.
The seasons of change
Whispered in her ear.
And it was then when
Autumn saw her future;
And named him Winter.
