[Desc. Trilo opens up to Killian about his past, interrupted partial by Tetra. Antics ensue.]

Alone in his dorm room, Trilo sat on his bed, his latest project abandoned to his bedside table. After hours of trying to rewire his helmet to include new features, he'd decided he needed a change of scenery. Hopping into his computer chair instead, he went down his mental list of tasks. One by one nothing seemed enticing to his mood; something was just off it seemed. All day he'd been antsy, on edge almost and it had only gotten worse without something to distract him. Killian would be back in about an hour, and Tetra was working late tonight cause of the storm; he'd have to figure something out himself in the meantime.

*THUNDER*

Trilo's antenna shudder as the thunderclap rings out, wracking his nerves. His hands immediately feel electrified as his senses overload, and he gasps before falling to the floor. Panting for breath, he stands shakily, trying to feel his way back to his bed. This time he sees the flash, just as his hand lands on the sheets he's thrown once again to the floor by the noise.

Moving quickly, Trilo clambered into bed and under the sheets. He curls up, reaching one arm out to open the bedside table drawer and retrieve his earplugs. Considering his helmet was currently only half put together, these small buds of memory foam would be the only protection he'd have as protection against the storm's cry.
Even still with the earplugs, the thunder felt like gunshots with every round. Trilo breathes beneath the sheets, his figure shaking with unpleasant memories of a familiar night years before.

"Stop. Stop it." He demands to himself, trying not to fall prey to his overactive imagination. "I'm not there anymore. I'm fine." Another thunderclap interrupts. "F-fuck!" He squeaks, curling up further. Tears begin to pour down his cheeks as he grits his teeth and cries out.
"Trilo?" Calls a familiar voice from the doorway. Trilo peaks out from the covers, his antenna cowering in anticipation for the next strike. "Aww hun." Killian soothes, closing and locking the door as he walks in. "Early?" Trilo tries to ask despite his teeth chattering. Killian closes the blinds and sits next to him on the bed, running one hand softly through his hair. "we got finished up earlier than expected. You gonna be okay?" Killian asks quietly.
Another round strikes, causing Trilo to retreat further under the covers and shake. Killian hushes softly, kicking off his shoes and jacket before climbing into bed and under the covers, "I've got ya my love. I've got ya." Trilo sniffles, trying to wipe the tears away before Killian can see him in this state. The panic only worsened in being vulnerable regardless of his he knew he was safe with his lover. "Hey there." Killian cooes lovingly, now joined under the safety of their blanket. He wipes Trilo's cheeks free of moister before planting soft kisses on his cheek, knowing already how much the smaller man hated to appear fragile. "Thank y-you." Trilo gasps out, holding Killian tightly as he laid them down.
It was usual for Trilo to get overwhelmed by the noise, Killian knew this, but something was different here in Trilo's mind. All he could seem to think of was the images of his past. "What's happening, love?" Killian asks worriedly, sensing something was different and figuring a distraction might help. Trilo taps his fingers together, cuddling up closer as he gears up. "T-Th-The Thunder!-" he takes a breath, soothing his nerves slightly, "I-It's a past-t things..." Trilo finishes. Killian hums, rubbing his shoulder, "You don't have to talk about that if you don't want to, my dear." He says warmly.
Trilo shakes his head slightly, taking a deep breath. "N-No. I can do this one." he starts, and Killian listens intently. Trilo takes another couple breathes as he retraced the memory from the start, "It was the l-last night I hung out with Tetra, b-before my dad's started keeping me in. We didn't go to any of our regular spots, cause Tetra was with a girl at the time; Caroline." Trilo huffs slightly, and Killian gives him a quick peck on his forehead. "Caroline lived out on a farm, I came as a wingman...and cause she supposedly had a great new strain, and we hung out for a couple hours cause her dad was at the bar with his buddies. I didn't know at the time, but Tetra did, that her dad was...the way he is...neither of us knew that he was that bad of a drunk, but Tetra knew he'd been mistreating Caroline, and we ended up staying later than expected..." Another tremor runs through Trilo as the storm crackles again, and he takes a moment before he continues. "When her dad got home he was plastered, and angry that we were there. I remember exactly how he screamed at me and Tetra for 'fooling around with his daughter' and Caroline yelled something back but I'd already started to space out. Til he hit Tetra, knocked him flat on his ass, and that only time I've ever seen him look phased, but we took off. He just about had to drag me out of there, and when we got outside it was storming like this." Trilo's antenna quirk towards their window. "The thunder felt ten times louder, and I knew it was cold but I could feel my body as we went across the field in the dark. We we're just about at the treeline...then there was a gunshot from the barn..." Trilo trails off a bit, his breathing a little ragged as he recalls the memory. "I don't think he was aiming to hit us, just scare us off...but Tetra got hit... and that's when he knew he'd fucked up and had to 'silence' us... Tetra he stayed standing, his hand jolted out of mine and I tumbled from the noise down the bank and onto my back in the creek. I remember the way the sky looked before I passed out, and I'm not exactly sure what happened after that..." He trails off again, shaking his head to try and clear the anxiety. Killian holds him close, gushing him softly, "I'm so sorry my love... That sounds incredibly traumatic..." He cooes.
"And it was." Sounds a familiar voice from the window. Trilo and Killian peak out from the covers, peering over at Tetra who sat leaned against the windowsill with his arms crossed. He nods to Killian with his usual grin, "You should feel lucky special-K. Not many people get to hear that story." Killian huffs in response, earning a chuckle from Tetra. "What're you doing here?" Trilo asks with a worried expression. "Came up for a charger, but then I heard a rather familiar tale being told." Tetra chuckles again, strutting over to Trilo's desk before crashing down on his chair and plugging his phone.
The couple watch curiously, before Killian asks, "What're you doing?" Tetra lounges back with a sigh, "Don't you wanna hear the rest of the story, pretty boy?~" he purs grossly. Trilo shoots an annoyed look before resting his head on Killian's shoulder defensively. Tetra laughs, "Okay well I'll take that as a meh, but after I got shot and the mighty Trilo took his less than graceful tumble, which busted both his legs mind you. Was not a short drop lemme tell ya." His cheerful attitude starts to taper off, "Daddy dearest took another couple shots before he stopped, and I went down over the bank. Trilo was already out by then, I wasn't sure if he was even alive by that point, but I carried him. Quickly I found out that Caroline's dad didn't stop so to speak, he just went back to let the dog off; it was a big Anatolian Shepard, he wasn't a bad dog, just following orders... He chased us down the creek, until it became a decision between him or Trilo. Couldn't keep dodging him while carrying Trilo, and the farmer would get there soon... I put him down." Trilo chirps sadly, and Tetra sighs, moving his glasses up before continuing. "I hid us under the bank, there was a tree with roots that made a sort of dip along the edge, and soon after her dad showed up. When he saw the dog, he got even angrier and shot off downstream. I waited a couple moments before running back up and out to the house cause my van was still there. We got in, I set T down on my bed in the back and drove off to the nearest hospital..." Tetra trails off, looking quite distressed, he glanced over to Trilo guiltily, who was wrapped tightly around Killian's arm. "T, I'm so sorry..." He says sincerely, sitting up in the chair and leaning forward. "You didn't know... It's okay." Trilo replies promptly, and they look to eachother sadly. "That's horrible..." Killian chimes in and the three of them Share a moment of silence before Tetra speaks up. "That was just the beginning." He says darkly.
"See I knew T didn't want his parents to find out that he'd been out but I didn't know just how bad it was til they got to the hospital. Not to mention his phobia of being there... The machinery, the lights, it just too much." Killian wraps his arm around Trilo again, soothing him as he begins to shake again. "I got pulled out of the room yelling after giving the nurse our information, I was trying to make sure they took care of him, but they were clearly more concerned about the bullet stuck in my shoulder. They sedated me and put me under, found my wallet and called my dad. They didn't know not to give me anything addictive which had my dad on edge when he arrived before T's dad's, but after Gabe and Beau got there the three of them had it out. Gabe was absolutely furious with me for 'tainting' Trilo's perfect obedience, and twice as pissed at my dad for raising such a disappointing waste of space. My father 'kindly' reminded him that both their kids were in the hospital and that it was none of his business to tell him how to raise his kid." Tetra starts to get antsy, shifting over in his seat, and Trilo sighs, "I remember that part; it was the only verbal fight father had ever lost." He chuckles half-heartedly. Tetra grins a bit, "what can I say? My dad would do anything for his kids." He pauses a moment, "can't say the same for your parents though bug. After that they locked you up tight and I never heard from yeah til Gabe wanted to get a restraining order against be, just for good measure. Fucker was just butthurt that Wexler always wins. See I told my dad everything that had happened, but T couldn't safely, he was gonna be in shit either way so there wasn't a point in making it worse for himself, and Gabe couldn't let it go."
