Mal sat waiting in the school gardens. Evie had asked to talk to her at the water fountain. Mal sat on the rim of the water fountain, looking around for her best friend.
She told me that she loved me by the water fountain
She told me that she loved me and she didn't love him
"Thanks for meeting me M. I really need to talk to you about something." Evie said as she walked up to Mal. Evie sat next to her, smiling awkwardly.
"Well, I'm all ears." Mal responded, with her cheeks starting to get flushed.
"Well, I've been thinking since we came back from the isle, about things." Evie said smiling wider, a slight rose tint on her face.
Mal's face fell, "You want to go back to the isle? But this is your dream. You're excelling here."
Evie shook her head smiling, "No, but I think I realized, that I let too much of the isle go."
"Well, yeah, but you're already doing that with your newest outfits." Mal added, getting confused at what her point was exactly.
"Well, I think I left a part of me behind. I think that I left the part of me, that always looked at you that way behind." Evie answered leaning in closer.
"Looked at me in what way, E?" Mal asked hoping that she was right about what was happening.
"Like you are the most amazing thing to ever live, like you are the most gorgeous person on Earth, like you glow when you start to lead, like I'm in love with you."
"E, I love you too." Mal smiled at her leaning into her as well. "But what about Doug, we have at least tried to be good, and cheating on your boyfriend doesn't sound so good."
"I love you; I don't love him. I wanted to tell you first." Evie said.
And that was really lovely 'cause it was innocent
It was a couple of days later and everyone was at a party, Mal was looking for Evie everywhere. She wanted to ask Evie on a date. So out of nerves she had a cup of something a little strong in her hand.
But now she's got a cup with something else in it
She found Evie, drinking from a red solo cup walking over to the dance area, in a nice blue dress and a blue leather jacket. Mal was shocked, Evie was always stunning in Mal's eyes, but she was somehow even more beautiful under the Auradon stars and fairy lights, making her look like she was glowing.
Mal started to walk closer to her, however she was beaten.
It's getting kind of blurry at a quarter-past-ten
And he was in a hurry to be touching her skin
Doug walked closer to Evie. Clearly, Evie hadn't broken up with him by the way he was leading her to dance floor. Mal was frozen. She didn't know what to do as the music blasted around her and the drink was kicking in.
She's feeling kind of dirty when she's dancing with him
Forgetting what she told me by the water fountain
Mal for a moment, met the eyes of Evie, who looked just like she would be dancing around things and people on the isle. She looked dazed and Mal knew, she had forgotten what she told her by the water fountain.
Now he's grabbing her hips, and pulling her in
Kissing her lips, and whispering in her ear
Still frozen in this moment of torment, Mal watched as Doug grabbed Evie's hips. Pulling her closer to his body, so they swayed together. Leaning they started to kiss, breaking Mal's heart even more. Once they had finally finished kissing, he started to whisper things in Evie's ear. Evie started laughing, Mal's favorite sound.
