"nice to meet you!" seyeon chirped from behind daiyu's shoulder.

"you too..." gowoon trailed off. she suddenly felt subconscious about her height and looks, being surrounded by so many tall, good-looking people.

seojun took their interaction as a moment to study the other's outfits. seyeon was wearing a plaid flannel over a plain white t-shirt and black pants, his hair still messy from waking up late. he was wearing a random headband.

daiyu was wearing a pair of loose black straight-legged jeans, matched with a dark blue oversized hoodie. her pants were splattered in paint and ripped around one knee, but it suited her well. her hair was as wild as ever, held out of her face by a pair of sunglasses.

seojun looked down at his own clothes. his trusty leather jacket, a pair of old jeans, and a white t-shirt.

"hey, nice glasses." daiyu pointed at the frames adorning gowoon's face.

she blushed slightly. "thank you."

"let's wrap it up guys, seojun and i are gonna be late!" seyeon complained, already a few feet away.

"we're going!" seojun rolled his eyes, tilting his head over to where seyeon was. "come on, he's getting antsy."

"dunno why," daiyu shrugged, falling into sidestep with seojun and gowoon. "he's got all the qualities for becoming an idol."

"i tell him that all the fucking time." seojun snorted, digging his hands into his pockets. "he always gets too nervous."

"what an idiot." daiyu rolled her eyes, her tone playful before her grin turned catlike. "by the way, i can't wait to hear the oh so grand han seojun sing. looking forward to that."

"trust me, by the end of the day, all you'll be able to do is close and open your mouth like a fish at my greatness." he grinned. gowoon rolled her eyes at her brother and slapped his arm.

"your head's already huge as it is." she tutted, making daiyu laugh.

"i like her!" daiyu smiled as she clapped seojun harshly on the back, her arm swinging over his shoulders.

‎ ‎ ‎ ━━AS ARROGANT AS seojun was, he wasn't lying one bit about his singing skills. daiyu found his voice soothing, calming like ocean waves and the rumble of oncoming thunder.

she couldn't even help smiling as he left the audition room, hands cooly tucked into his leather jacket and eyes twinkling. they caught hers first, his smirk forming a genuinely happy smile.

"you should've seen! no one else did better than me and seyeon. i topped the singing, and he topped dancing."

"damn you, han seojun," daiyu said with a grin. "you're truly amazing."

seojun paused, his grin frozen into place. did zhao, 'i-don't-give-two-shits-about-anything-but-i'll-knock-your-teeth-in-if-you-make-a-bad-impression' daiyu just compliment him? something strange leaped against his ribcage, and he felt his ears grow warm.
