The Key:
S/c = Skin Color
F/c = Favorite Color
Morning arrived quickly and before I knew it, it had been 1 day since I arrived here. I awoke early to get ready for the beach party. I brushed my hair, brushed my teeth, and slid into my f/c swimsuit. I gazed at myself on the mirror. My s/c skin seemed to fit the swimsuit well. After I finished my short admiration of myself, I put on a red hoodie and a pair of shorts on top of the swimsuit. That way I wouldn't have to go change in a bush or in the shabby bathrooms outside. Rummaging through my closet I brought out a small duffle bag to store my towel, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a book in case I had to be invisible for certain scenes. Ironically, it was The Outsiders which was a series Ralph Macchio acted in as well. Geez, the last time I read that book was in middle school. It felt like centuries since I last saw a copy like this. I tossed the book in along with my other supplies and tossed the bag over my shoulder.
Reaching for the door knob I paused, mentally preparing myself. You can do this. Just do what you practiced and everything will go well. I firmly grasped the door knob of my bedroom and turned it open. Walking bravely into the kitchen, I greeted my mother and sat at the table nervously. How was I going to tell her I was going to a beach party? I mentally slapped myself. It's the 80's, parents probably let their kids sleep at random stranger houses, I reassured myself. I stabbed my fork through some berries and munched on them thoughtfully. She seemed to be washing the pots and pans. Calming down, I drew a breath and stood up. My mother must've sensed something was wrong and turned her head to face me.
"What's wrong, Y/N?" She asked, turning worriedly at me. I could feel my bones turn stiff.
"Uhm, so I... Uh wanted to. -" I gripped the table cloth tightly. "Ask you.." I continued on. "If I could go-" I gulped. I wasn't sure why I was so anxious. She would probably be fine with it. Perhaps it was my past experience with parental figures that made me worried.
I remember clearly; the time where my past mother screamed at me for asking that. I wanted to go hang out with some friends but she seemed to hate that. She claimed that no one helped her around the house nowadays and that I was ungrateful for everything she did, when I always helped her around the house, even when I was sick. That was the last time I asked her that.
"Go where, honey?" She spoke softly.
"To the beach with Freddy and some friends.." I murmured. "But you don't have to-"
"Of course Y/N. Go have fun with your friends! I've already finished cleaning around the house. Just make sure to eat something before you go." she leaned over the table and gave me a soft kiss on the forehead. I couldn't even remember the time my own mother did that to me or if she even did that.
I nodded silently and ate my breakfast. Afterward, I put the plate in the sink and waved goodbye to my mother. She returned the gesture and I headed on my way.
I soon met up with Freddy and we waited until Daniel arrived and got into his car.
Freddy had the bright idea of deciding to put his luggage in the passenger seat. Because of this, me and Daniel had to awkwardly sit there in the back seat. Fuck. What was I suppose to do? I felt my plans crash before me.
As Freddy got into the driver seat we started on our way to the beach.
"So Daniel, this is y/n, my cousin, the one you were supposed to meet yesterday. " Freddy said. My palms were sweating nervously.
"Hi y/n, I'm Daniel. Daniel Larusso." He waved his hand at me. I nervously waved back. Our eyes met briefly. Holy shit. He's cute in person. I could feel my face heat up. His chocolate doe eyes stared right back at me. I needed to straighten up.
"Hi." I said, casually, trying not to embarrass myself. He nodded his head and smiled.
