The night dragged across the sky like void. Clouds covered the stars, and the new moon refused to shine. The world was black. Quiet. The perfect time to enter the city.
Mondstat is the city of freedom; the city where bards songs get carried in a breeze from the Cathedral to the gates. For the most part, the people there were carefree and usually very kind and respectable.
But they where also chatty. I didn't exactly like that. I walked across the bridge above Cider Lake. The water looking eerily deep without any light reflecting on it.
The birds in my path flew away quickly, as if scared of my presence.
One of the guards at the gates was asleep the other looked in my direction, straining to see the figure in black moving closer to him.
With a swift flash of my vision, I was hidden from view. I watched amused as the guard at the gate blinked in confusion. Looking around as if I was still there. When, I had just entered the city.
My vision docked again, and now anyone could see me. Although, no one did; because they were all asleep.
"This is going to get interesting," I whispered to myself.
(Short chapter, Ik, sorry! I might just update it again tonight if I feel like it, the once a week thing are more guidelines than anything else, also, it's formatted weird for me is that the same for you guys too?-)
