Chapter 2 See You On The Other Side

Just as Freya had described it to Hope, she slowly felt a light trickle in and her eyes opened. Slowly rising to her feet she looked around and saw that she was in a dark forest, a puzzled look spread across her face as a sense of deja vu struck her..like she has been here before. Hearing the sounds of waves crash in the distance she ventures towards it, arriving at a dock with a small raft tied below, and standing on the dock was a skeleton figure holding a lantern with a blue flame. "Can I please just go somewhere where there aren't any more monsters for once again", she lets out in annoyance as she walks onto the docks. When she's about to speak out to the fairy man a golden glow in the distance catches her eye. "Is that peace"? She questions. The fairy man nods his head yes, "and I can just go there"? Again the fairy man nods his head yes. " There has to be a catch, there always is", after Hope says those words the fairy man holds out his hand gesturing to Hope's necklace, Hope instinctively wraps her right hand around the necklace in a protective manner. "This is priceless to me", she says as the fairy man keeps his hand stretched out. Hope releases her necklace and speaks again, "If you can prove to me that my family is there maybe we can make a deal".

"You truly are Niklaus's daughter". Hope snaps her head to look over her shoulder, her eyes wide and mouth hung open, never did she imagine that she would see him again. "He would always say that she can strike a deal with anyone, even the devil himself", he finished as he was now standing before her. "Uncle Elijah", Hope lets out in a whisper.

"So we split up, I followed Kaleb here where I picked up Hope's scent too", finished Jed as he pointed to the map on the table in front of him. "The old train depo", says Alaric. "Where's Wade?" questions MG. "Still tracking Ethan, Malivore is obviously controlling them and all of the townies they're turning now, tho they don't seem to be turning into monsters", answers Jed. "Dismisses Brightside ever", adds Lizzie "We have to find a way to snap them out of it somehow", she finishes. "And a way to bring back safely Hope, Landon, and Cleo", comments Josie. "Malivore is trying to split us up, make us fight on multiple fronts", says Alaric. "Then which one is it gonna be?", questions MG. "Well we can't let them harm civilians and we can't defeat him without Hope either, I have to go in alone", "but you just said he wants to split us up", Lizzie responds giving her father a questioning look. "Because he underestimates just how capable each and every one of you is, and before you talk me out of this"- "we won't, we know why you have to", interrupts Josie. Josie looks over to her sister across from her, "We made a promise to Hope, and dad did too". "Jo's right, for this one time only, you have our permission to put Hope Mikaelson first". Alaric nods his head in agreement. "Now usually I would tell the rest of you not to get involved but then you all would just go and do something anyway so let's skip that part", Alaric finishes as he walks off to go grab his supplies. "Well I guess that just leaves you in charge, what do you need us to do", asks Jed as he looks to MG everyone nodding in agreement. MG walks around to the head of the table. "All of it".

Before Elijah can say anything he is taken aback when Hope wraps her arms around him, the gesture stops him for a moment but he's quick to return it. "You look so much like your mother and father", "are they here too," Hope asks as they break their embrace and starts looking all around. "No, your mother had already found peace before me and Niklaus's arrival, and tho he may have wanted to stay and be the one to greet you here, luckily an old friend Camille was able to convince him to go to peace with her", a sorrow-filled smile spreads across Hope's face. Conflicted, on one hand, she would have loved to see her mother and father again but on the other to hear that they had both found peace removed the biggest weight she ever had on her shoulders. "That's..amazing, but where is here Uncle Elijah and why didn't you go with them?" "This is limbo, all a bit too theatrical for my taste really and I stayed so I could see you". Hope reflects Elijah's smile, "Things were very complicated when we were reunited after almost a decade apart, and tho I understand the role I played in that occurring, I had hoped that whenever the time came for you to transition and begin the next chapter in your everlasting life I could offer you council as I did for your father and make amends", Elijah's smile fading as he finished his explanation. Hope doesn't miss a beat as she opens her mouth to speak, and be able to put to bed another one of her biggest regrets, "I was angry with you because I couldn't fully accept what had happened to my mom. I needed someone to blame because I thought it could make it a little easier.  And the added bonus of having my mind filled with dark magic definitely didn't help the situation, and I'm sorry that we couldn't have this moment when you were alive, that I didn't say this to you when you said your goodbye but I love you Uncle Elijah and we both played a part in what happened. If you needed my forgiveness to truly find peace and have that dance with my mom that she's been holding on to for so long you have it. I forgave you a long time ago. I just wish I could have told you this sooner", tears started to build in both Hope's and Elijah's eyes towards the end of her speech, and after she had finished Elijah pulled Hope into his arms," Look at you, so big. So perfect".
