Dakota Summers

Driving up to the gate, I realized how exhausted I was after the Charity Function I had just attended, and it didn't help having the fan on or even opening up the car's windows. It was almost as if the hot air was gliding through the air conditioner, and the air outside was dry and hot. Looking out of the window, I could feel the hot air and smell the fresh sourness of cherry blossoms that were still blooming this summer. When I think about how hard it was to plant them in this terrain and to even make them blossom for spring, it has always been a great accomplishment of mine. I guess the hot air didn't feel hot at all when I think about the sakura tree.

Getting out of the car, I walked to the door and shouted out as I entered the house.

"Jake... I'm home!"

Jake Bradlee, my first love, we had been dating for four years now and I was hoping we could have our wedding this spring but nope he wasn't big on that he would complain that we couldn't afford it, which is understandable, because I knew my father would pay for everything but it seems like I'm going to wait for eternity, I guess.

I couldn't help but laugh at my selfish thoughts, thinking about where we've been as I couple I reminisced about the first time I meet him, he was the popular jock and I was the popular nerdy girl and after graduation things just moved along quickly but brilliantly, I mean every love story has it's not so lovable moments. But either way, we came out stronger than before, after our mishaps. I moved in with him after he proposed to me by that time my father had bought me a house as a gift to us, apparently but I knew he didn't want us to feel as if he was all in our business if I remember correctly, he had said that if we are serious might as well as live up to the occasion.

But since Jake he was one of those guys that believed that women shouldn't work, I was demanded to stay at the big house my father had bought for us and occasionally I would attend functions with my mother. Our relationship haven't been so forward in the bedroom department but you see I wanted to wait on our wedding night to explore all the options and even though Jake didn't approve on many occasions but at the end he ended up being more understandable and that's what I love about him that he could adapt for my needs.

Shutting the door, I moved to the kitchen and started taking off the 10 inches I had on and clearing up the mess in the kitchen I started making myself a salad considering how starved I was from not eating at the function. After cleaning up after myself, I packed up my ingredients and ate up my light salad, I noticed that Jake hadn't called out, meaning his either in his study or probably swimming.

Picking up my salad, I knew my mother wouldn't approve of me eating and walking at the same, but just this once, what she doesn't know won't kill her. I went to the lounge to see his secretaries' bag and jacket, yep his defiantly in his office. Since my father approved Jake, he started grooming him into taking over the family business. I know it wasn't what he wanted, but he seemed happy.

Deciding to change first, since I was at a charity event with my mom, I put on the radio low knowing Jake would be angry if it was loud taking off my coat I danced to the classical music that was playing I went upstairs to our bedroom and left the salad bowl I was eating from on the dressing table. I undressed and removed the makeup taking a quick shower.

I changed into my white khaki shorts, long sleeves floral pink t-shirt, and pink pumps. I pulled my hair into a bun and took a quick look into the mirror, feeling a little subconscious. I mean, I wasn't pretty, but what am I going to do about it besides acknowledge myself.

Silently skipping down the stairs. I went back to the kitchen and cleaned the salad bowl, turning off the radio. I started preparing dinner, opening the freezer. I noticed there was only chicken and fish and knowing how fussy Jake could be. I decided to ask him what he felt like having. Going to his office, I turned left , and then I heard whispers of voices. Walking down the passage, the voices became louder, but only it sounded more like muffled sounds.
