"Yes." I smiled.
"Little different environment." she said.
"Good times. Very different. Less exciting." I said, using my hands as I talk. I hate when I do that but it was a habit.
"Totally." she said. "Well you're kicking off the fall tour now,"
"Yes." I said.
"How's it doing so far?" she asked.
"So far so good. This is the third day. And the tour is exciting because it's not only the last tour I'm gonna do, not only of the year, but of the Siberia cycle before I start working on new stuff." I said.
"It's really bittersweet, looking back at how far Siberia has taken us, all around the world, kinda, it's really bittersweet." I said.
"Totally. Do you have a tour highlight? Like something of the .. " Chelsea asked.
"Like all the tours?" I asked.
"Yes." she said.
"Oh, I don't know... So many things. Last night was a highlight because... I got stung by a spider..." I said. I'm so weird. Chelsea laughed.
"We were just talking about that before the interview!" she laughed.
"Yeah we were just talking about that." I said.
"But someone had given me a sweater and I put on the sweater and I felt something get me in the shoulder, and sure enough, I was bitten by this darling little spider. Those kinda things are, easy to remember." I said.
"Maybe it'll give you some super special powers." she said.
"That's what I was thinking." I laughed. "Like, I was looking around on my hand for like, barbs or some special ability."
"So obviously with touring so much, does it ever get old for you? Sort'of..." she said.
"Uhh, you can do the same thing all the time and it just gets really repetitive and can get to this... to this really boring routine. With every tour we try to change up the set, through different songs in. The more music you put out, the more you have to work to make an exciting set, so like, different versions and arrange things differently. You- You just through some curve balls in there for yourself all the time to keep it exciting, and exciting for the fans that are coming back." I said.
"You had a big week because you had a new music video, the Timing Is Everything," she started.
"Yep.'' I said, smiling.
"You had a cool video." she said, smiling.
"Thank you very much. Yeah, it's different from what I normally do." I said.
"How did you come up with the concept?" she asked.
"Well, the Timing Is Everything video is different from all the other videos I've done, because there wasn't my treatment. And I've been doing the treatment for my videos for a very long time, but what happened with the timing is everything video is, we never meant to make a video for it. And this director, Kent Galloway, he's really talented, this up and coming director guy, came to us with the treatment and the idea and say well if we can scrap up the minimal amount of money, we're really low on money, would you guys wanna be part of this? He said the treatment to the video was kinda funny and it's like, one of my only songs that you can do a funny video for because most of my songs are really cinematic and epic and it's hard to do a video for those. But this was the one song I was like, that could be really cool, so we did the thing for dirt cheap and you know, to see the result it speaks wonders about Canada." I said.
