The gentle snow fell slowly, frost climbed up the window, and the moon crept up from the horizon of the never-ending sea.

Michael gazed longingly out his cold window and dreamed about the sorts of things he would see if he could just... go outside.

Michael lived in Snowchester with his parents, Tubbo and Ranboo. He lived in a little house in the snow, overlooking the vast, frozen ocean. Michael spent his days playing with his chicken, daydreaming, drawing, thinking, and staring out the taunting window. He was occasionally babysat by his godfather, Technoblade, who taught him sword fighting, geography, and even maths. Yet, he felt lonely.

Creeeaaaak, his thoughts were suddenly disturbed. The trapdoor leading to downstairs opened up. Michael quickly swiveled around to see Tubbo emerging from below.

As Tubbo stood up, Michael leaped over to Tubbo giving him a hug with such force it nearly toppled him over.

"Haha hi bud", Tubbo fondly said as he hugged Michael back.

"It's way past your bedtime, Michael", Tubbo said seriously but with a light and joking tone.

Michael gave a long sigh of obvious disappointment and defiantly marched over to his bright yellow bed. Michael didn't like going to bed. The room was dark, there were strange noises and his dreams were- weird.

Tubbo always insisted that all dreams were weird so Michael stopped asking and trusted him. If it ever came to it, Michael would trust Tubbo with his life.

Michael hesitantly got into his warm, cozy bed. He had to admit, the warmth from his bed was refreshing seen as the cold, night air made a refrigerator seem more appealing to sleep in than his room.

Tubbo affectionately tucked Michael in, parting with a brisk peck on his forehead.

"Goodnight, Michael", Tubbo said fondly.

Creeeaaaak ....

Michael woke up.

He opened his eyes and looked over to the trapdoor to downstairs, no one was there, but it had been opened half way.

"Tubbo? Ranboo? Is that you?" Michael asked the darkness, trying his best not to be afraid.

No answer.

Then a bright purple gleaming came from the trapdoor.

"Wh-?" Michael got up out of bed and anxiously tip-toed over to the bright, violet light. He peered down to see a dark figure but he couldn't quite make out who it was. Michael leaned down more to get a closer look.

And leaned.

Leaned a bit further.

"AAH", Michael leaned a bit too far and fell downstairs. He winced expecting to feel pain but... he didn't.

Michael hesitantly opened his eyes to find he was being lifted off the ground, cradled in the arms of the stranger. He looked to see who caught him from falling, it was Ranboo!

"Ranboo!" Michael hugged his adopted father tightly, feeling safe and protected.

No answer.

"Ranboo...?" Michael slowly looked up at the tall, familiar figure. His father did not look down at him. Michael inched away from Ranboo and shook his pant leg gently.

"Ranboo...??" Michael asked again a little louder this time. Hmm maybe I need to get his attention, Michael thought to himself.

Michael went to the other side of the room and pulled a chair over to where his father was standing and struggled to get up on the chair for a while.

When he eventually pulled himself up, he was facing the wall. A strange purple glow was coming from behind him where Ranboo was.

Michael slowly and hesitantly turned around to face his father.

"Ranboo...?"
